"Meet The Monster" as written by and Bathroy/moody/snell/spencer....
It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe
They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed
I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be
I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'

Can you read between the lines?
Or are you stuck in black and white?
Hope I'm on the list of people that you hate
It's time you met the monster that you have helped create
Boo!

You've pushed me one too many times
I'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle it
You've pushed me one too many times
I'm sick of all of the shit, I'm gonna settle it!

It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe
They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed
I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be
I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'

Well there's nothing you can say to me now
And there's nothing you can do to stop me
It's hard not to be a menace to society
When half the population is happy on their knees

You've pushed me one too many times
I'm sick of all of the fiction, we're gonna settle it
You've pushed me one too many times
I'm sick of all of the shit, I'm here settle it!

'Cause I can't take it anymore
I refuse to live this way
It's not that I don't care enough, it's not that I can't see
It's everything inside of me that won't let me be you
It won't let me be you!

It's not that complicated and you ain't gotta believe
They'll put me down in a hole before I let you succeed
I've never been complacent, I can't afford to be
I know you think you're special but you ain't nothin'
No, you ain't nothin'
And you'll never succeed
I know you think you're special,
But you ain't nothin'

But you ain't nothin'!

General Commenti love the way he sings this song...the first two lines of the chorus are sung through his teeth to give the affect of the anger and rage pushed to the top, its pure genious, really sets the mood for the song. not to mention a bad ass riff to back it up.

General CommentAlso..."Can you read between the lines? Or are you stuck in black and white?" - asking whether or not people are able to tell the difference between what's really happening and the bullshit they soak up in the newspapers/media.

General Comment'He' is ferious at the person he wishes to be. And well wants to pummle them, saying you don't have to understand im just go to brong the pain and misery. He can't take whatever this person put him through. Maybe he realized a false idol.

General CommentThis song, like much of the album, i believe is about allowing someone to control, walk all over, abuse you for so long that you grow tired of it and fucking snap, now it's time they get what they have coming to them

General CommentTo me this song is addressed to shady government/businessmen/etc. who's goal is to find any means possible to screw over it's citizens for their personal gain. And taking a stand against it, even if they have to "put me in a hole before I let you succeed". He talks about not being complacent which is the problem with much of America. "Hope I'm on the list..." It's pretty well known that government keeps lists of those who pose a threat to them. "You've pushed me one too many times. I'm sick of all of the fiction..." -all of the propaganda/lies forced down our throats via news/media that stir emotion and allow them to get laws/regulations passed without any resistance, which take away our rights. "It's hard not to be a menace to society When half the population is happy on their knees" This one is pretty self explanatory....anyone who opposes gov't is considered a menace. And as mentioned before, most of America is far too complacent (happy on their knees). And you can see how this meaning would fit most of the other lyrics as well. Dunno...that's how I interpret it though. In fact, many songs on this album seem to have an anti-gov't tone...with a sprinkle of relationship songs here and there. Even their album is called "way of the fist", and think about how America "deals" with other countries around the world. Brute force is all they (upper government) know.
