And they cry
And they call
As the wayward walk alone

City lights
Urban sprawl
In a place no one should know

Shown no grace
Shown no love
These mean streets are meant for none

[Chorus:]
Take them back to the start
Let the purest of heart
Know their worth is still spoken

As they fight to exist
We neglect and resist
Let this circle be broken

Broken homes
Broken lives
They repeat themselves in time

It's passed on
Down the line
Till we heal the wounds inside

It's not too late
To make things right
Dress wounds with loves pure light

[Chorus]

They're still waiting
They still cry
They still want to know they'll be all right

All I'm saying
Can we try?
To bring the wayward ones back home tonight
Bring the wayward one back home tonight

[Chorus]

why people believe that alter bridge is a christian band (specially creed fans) as tremonti says again and again in every event that alter bridge is not a christian band.. maybe creed was a christian band because of stapp and that was the reason for the destruction of creed.

they don't BELIEVE alter bridge is christian but i think it's like a game for guys to attach religious thing to a band. specially when it consists three member of creed. it starts with a song which usually has the word "god", "heaven" or "hell". some guys interpret it as a christianity because it's the easiest thing for them after drugs and addiction of course! then other guys admit it without even thinkin' a little bit about it and so it begins. look at "One Day Remains" songs for example. it's really strange how every song mean religious to some guys. personally i didn't like creed and i don't care if they were christian but Alter Bridge definitely are not.

it's true somehow what you said but i don't know why you mentioned it here? i think Wayward One is about rape and taking rights with violence. it obviously doesn't have any chance for christian meaning!

    wayward means "erratic or unpredictable"

i think whats its trying to say is that heres so many problems with peoples life nowadays that they've forgotten how to be care-free. he's saying its a cold world without the "Wayward ones" and he wants somebody to bring them back so the world could be a better place

ok let me share my views. well i think the wayward means a person on the journey or on the way or out of home.( without any reason or something like that ) and myles says in song that before they realize like other people that everything is over for them. we should bring them back to home.

BROKEN HOMES BROKEN LIVES THEY REPEAT THEMSELVES IN TIME.

i think that means that they repeat their mistakes again and again and they never realize that they are away from their home and their homes are like empty and broken without them and their families hearts are like broken.

so the whole meaning of this song is that we should bring them (wayward ones) back to home. before they waste their lives in a useless way.

    alter bridge rox

    luv this band

keep up the gud job guyz.

    correct the lyrics my friend

City lights, broken sprawl, in a place no one can know.

    its

city lights urban sprawl in a place no one should know

know their word is still spoken. As they fight to exist, we neglect and recess. Let the circle be broken.

    its

know their worth is still spoken as they fight to exist we neglect and resist let the cycle be broken.

They're still waiting. They still cry. The one love: they'll be alright.

    its

They're still waiting. They still cry. They wanna know: they'll be alright.

to me this song is one onf my faves it informs us not to take everyone for grated and reach out for the ones that are lost and put them on the right path this also reminds me that every one is a child of god and this song reminds me that we sholud look uptowds the less forsent and show that we do care

is it possible this song is about those who choose a life of prostitution? as vague as it is, it's a concept that seemed to stand out for me when i listen to the lyrics closely.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
