"Hold Me Now" as written by Sam Mizell, Jessie Daniels and William Scott Davis....
I tired so hard to fill the emptiness inside
But nothing ever seemed to fit in
I tired to understand the loneliness in my life
But nothing ever seemed to make sense
Until You opened up my eyes to

All that I ever wanted was this peace as You
Hold me now as You hold me now
All that I ever needed was this love as You
Hold me now, forever hold me now

Oh, I never knew what heaven was before
Right next to where ever You are
Is where I want to me
But I didn't see a happy ending
Until You open up my eyes to

All that I ever wanted was this peace as You
Hold me now as You hold me now
All that I ever needed was this love as You
Hold me now, forever hold me now

Wrap Your arms around me
Never let go

General CommentIn the lyric booklet Jessie has said this song is about a tough time in her life about a year before she became a christian, before she came to know Jesus. She couldn't help but feel a strong comforting feeling inside and that was the only thing that got her through... she felt it again just after she was saved.. it was only then she knew jesus was with her, even when she didnt know him. He was holding her just as he holds us when we go through really bad times...
Reading that... it kinda reminded me of the footprints poem. Where when the person asked God why when everything was good that God was with him and then when things went bad there was only one set of footprints... God was carrying him, holding him.
I really like the words of this song and it is so true cos we often try to fill the empty spot in us that we feel with everything else... when the empty spot is actually meant for our relationship with God.
