"Beyond Belief" as written by and Elvis Costello....
Wisdom, knowledge, science
You know that's always better, faster
This is the final end

A voice in the wilderness
Fights in fear no more
Because this stronger death
More sold men before

Massive tears wake up
Shows what's to expect
Scores on top of scores
Racing for the future we don't have

Fear is taking over me
There is nothing I can see

The future is as certain
As life will come to an end
When time feels like a burden
We struggle with a certain death

Wisdom, knowledge, science
You know that's always better, faster

We have to guide ourselves
For we cannot stand
One more false pretense getting out of hand

Now fear is the driving force
Taking over us
And finding out this source
Made to know to be too much to bear

Fear is taking over me
There is nothing I can see
How could peace seem more to be

The future is as certain
As life will come to an end
When time feels like a burden
We struggle with a certain death

Wisdom, knowledge, science
You know that's always better, faster
Defeat the science, knowledge, wisdom
These words have always ever lasted
This is the final end

Vertigo, impossible
Vertigo, impossible
We store all that belongs to us

It depends, the way to speak
It depends, is what we say
We store all that was left behind

The future is as certain
As life will come to an end
When time feels like a burden
We struggle with a certain death

The future is as certain
As life will come to an end
When time feels like a burden
We struggle with a certain death

Wisdom, knowledge, science
You know that's always better, faster
Defeat the science, knowledge, wisdom
These words have always ever lasted
This is the final end

General CommentI can't accept that this is completely straightforward. Surely Epica isn't anti-technology or against the pursuits of scientific knowledge. That'd be a bit hypocritical. I think it's more a plea for temperance in the pursuit of advanced technology, lest we create something dangerous before we understand how to control it.

General Commentno comments at all??? wow.. that's sad.

    fairly straightforward message here.

    "Science, knowledge, wisdom
    Destroys us, always, ever, faster"

General CommentI think it shows kind of a message like... Science is trying to find all of these ways the world will end. Making our end come sooner and sooner. And it's making us destroy ourselves. And as there are now so many reasons to make us believe that there is nothing after we die it makes us fear our innevitable demise. Or something of the like.

    I love this song.

General CommentThis song gave me chills when I first heard it. I love the sound of it, the guitar solo owns. and Simone's voice is always so addicting when blended with the choir.

This song is pretty self explanatory. All of this research and hunger for knowledge is going to be the end of us all because we will know far too much. The future is as certain as life will come to an end makes this obvious. This song has so much truth to it, sometimes humans' hunger to know everything is pretty intense. We are in such a rush to know all, it's ridiculous. 'When time feels like a burden. We struggle with our certain death.' is definitely truth.

This is the final end= killer line to end the song. I love this song!

General CommentActually the meaning is that without wisdom we will destroy our-self by our inventions. Our advancement is ahead of our own wisdom and that will lead us to destruction. There is nothing anti-technology or against the pursuits of scientific knowledge. Just to be careful how we use our knowledge...
