"Mussle Rock (Is a Horse in Transition)" as written by and Pavement....
Blue stones are cast again
Feeling like I'm one of them too
Pelican road is closed in summer
Feel like I wasted my day

How will I know?
How will I know?

Wheat fields are turning gold
Lunches I eat were always cold
Peanut nut rolls mysteriously
I think my uncle saw me do it

How will I know?
How will I know?

General CommentHow will I know? Why didn't I ask?

Stylus was right in saying that this would have been a better closer for wowee zowee. A highly underrated spiral song.

General CommentI don't underrate it, acorm88! One of my favorites. I love this single (the "Father to a Sister of Thought" single)--three perfect songs. One of my favorite recorded things by any band ever. I hadn't heard about it being a possible closer for Wowee Zowee. I actually like "Western Homes," but yeah, it would have been a great choice.

Wonderful impressionistic lyrics that convey some kind of summertime ennui. What happened on Pelican Road? And I love the guitar lick in the ride-out.

General Commentchildhood...there's something sinister here, but how will I know?
I adore to throw out random interpretations of SM's brilliance...how bout dissociation?
