Awake in the mornin'
I wonder often
The lights are bright in the day
She decided to stay
I took her gently
Leap long and often
And she's pale
But her parade will end at the train
She said, 'come on baby
Open your eyes'
Got to stop all that ringing
Essplode
Come on baby
Give us a rise
Not to get all that smiling
Essplode

And the air smells like wine
But when I'm fucking you lately
And you [?]
Kissing your wall
But your mouth was okay
But if you wait for a minute
You'll swallow your words
So just gently descent on a day
And a blanket may lay
Then finally you will open your eyes
When the pillows are piling
Esspolde

And the air smells like honey
But when I'm fucking you lately
And you [?]
Kisses your wall
But your mouth was okay

A holistic healer
Found by the river
With a blank on my mind
I dropped the ball and I'm singing
This song like a teacher could say
"Your lessons are long
But you grow and remain"
(Half a shadow you'll be)
Walkin' in the sunshine

i found these lyrics on lyrical collective.

Awake in the morning I wonder often Will the lights come bright on the day She decided to stay 'Cause watchin' the TV We wandered, awkward Just standing by the parade And you'll end at the train

(Listen baby) Come on Davey Open the blinds You gotta look past the window And fly

(Listen baby) Come on Davey Step to the beat You gotta stop all your worrying Essplode

Feet in the air Smells like honey Darlin' when I'm fuckin' ya lately Got the touch of the tiger inside Kiss is a while but your mouth is OK

Wait for a minute You'll swallow your words Just the scent on a summer day In a blanket melee

Darlin' get up, open your eyes This bounty awaits you Unwind

Feet in the air Smells like honey Darlin' when I'm fuckin' ya lately Got the touch of the tiger inside Kiss you a while but your mouth is OK

Well a holistic healer Found my rhythm Wasn't right in my mind Drop a bomb now, singin' the song like a teacher Can say, "Your lessons are long!" But your (???) remains

Have to shout at you What did you do? Sorry To have to shout at you but What did you do? Sorry Oh yeah (yeah!)

Speak from the beginning I wonder often No one there, someone there, or a crowd And the blanket's real loud

Come on Avey Put up the blinds Turn on the pilot Essplode

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
