"Parker" as written by and David Maurice Juliet Simms....
I was your fire once
You thought of me as your one true love
I got so mad and said things that later I would
Regret and regret and regret
Holding onto my chest and pounding 'til it turns purple
A breaking bow and the sound of a scream muffled by pillows

So don't so long and don't farewell
Hear me out now, I've just begun to say

Parker, do you remember
How I carried your heart
And I carried it far?
And I know that there's no one to blame
It's a sure given shame
Of my own that you don't remember

Sworn off blue lips, kiss them warm
With love comes deep dark red and paper cuts
From letters I re-write explaining how to fall in love
Well, pictures inspire and songs never tire
And there's always clouds to float upon
Saving me best for last
Down for keeps up for grabs
We'll play stop and go
But it feels just like freeze tag

So I'll see you right, applaud and encore
I'll be braver, just you wait here 'til I say

Parker, do you remember
How I carried your heart
And I carried it far?
And I know that there's no one to blame
It's a sure given shame of my own

I'm naked once so don't think twice
Hold on, it's hard enough to bite my shy
Hold on, hold on, hold tight

Parker
do you remember
how i carried your heart
and i carried it far
Parker, do you remember
How I carried your heart
And I carried it far?
And I know that there's no one to blame
It's a sure given shame of my own, of my own, of my own
It's a sure shame of my own
That you don't, that you won't remember

General Commentdoes it really say "I'm naked once so don't think twice"? The naked part makes absolutly no sense to me. Besides that, this is an amazing song, she has a great voice.

General CommentThis song took a whole new meaning to me last Monday, when my boyfriend broke up with me. Coincidentially enough, his name was Parker. This song was most certainly on repeat.

This song tells about a girl who was dating a boy named Parker that she really cared about, and vice versa. But things somehow got messed up in their relationship, and she said and did things she very much regretted. Once it ended, she got upset and didn't know how to handle her out of control emotions, so she cried and got angry, and that of course was the post-break up stress. That's what the first verse tells us.

The chorus goes on to show that she's trying to make him remember the way they used to be, and how great it was. She doesn't blame anyone for the breakup but herself.

In the next verse "sworn off blue lips" refers to her still wanting him, but she can't have him. And I think the "letters I rewrite explaining how to fall in love" shows her trying to figure out what love really is, and wondering if they were really in love, and trying to get him to fall for her once she can't get over him. I think the "We'll play stop and go, but it feels just like freeze tag" shows that things go from being good and bad and from blaming one to blaming the other, and just that everything is a mess.

"I'm naked once so don't think twice" is a line that I couldn't ever understand in the song, but I now interpret it as her exposing herself. Maybe she doesn't want him to turn back ("so don't think twice") now that he's hurt her so bad, because she can't trust him now.

I could go into detail about every line, but most of it is pretty self-explanatory.

Such a marvelous song, but so painful once it happens to you.

General Commenti think the naked once but dont think twice is just saying how she is putting herself out there and revealing how she truly feels.

i believe that there was a break up and she regrets it and wants him back

    General CommentOK here's my interpretation
    "I was your fire once
You thought of me as your one true love"
this shows how "Parker" once thought of her has his only one and he's now telling her that this isn't the case anymore as she goes onto say

"I got so mad and said things that later I would
    Regret and regret and regret"
she said things that she is going to regret because he's telling her what she doesn't want to hear

"Holding onto my chest and pounding 'til it turns purple
A breaking bow and the sound of a scream muffled by pillows"
this shows how she is trying to deal with the pain of her not loving him like punching her chest and screaming into a pillow to release the pain and anger

"So don't so long and don't farewell
Hear me out now, I've just begun to say"
then she want him to hear her out so she's saying don't say goodbye just yet and says

    "Parker, do you remember
    How I carried your heart
    And I carried it far?
And I know that there's no one to blame
    It's a sure given shame
Of my own that you don't remember"
remember the love that they had, remember how she was so in love she carried his heart and love round with her and she says there's no on else to blame but herself for letting herself get s far in love as she did.

also "From letters I re-write explaining how to fall in love" shows how bad she wants him to love her as she's explaining how to do it and re-writing as he doesn't fall in love from them

and i think "I'm naked once so don't think twice" shows how she put her self out there the first time she fell in love so wont do it again

General Commentokay, i interpret this song like this.

the girl broke up with her boyfriend Parker...but she dealt with a lot of crap before she decided to end it. she didnt really want to break up with Parker but she knew it was what she needed because he took her for granted...Hence "I carried your heart" she didnt say in the song that he carried her heart...i think she she did most of the work in the relationship to try and keep them together..but eventually she just got sick of trying to fix everything herself...but she still loves him so it's really hard for her...make sense?
