"Distraction" as written by and James Christopher/burch Adkins....
There's a simple escape
It covers any mistake
Always have a good distraction
You can keep the debate
He said, she said rage
They'll forget whatever happens

We divide, we take a side
Spinning on forever
Run, slow down, run
We're all waiting in the same line

Use your head to prepare
A real fight's not declared
A symbol doesn't cause your problems
Take a walk see who cares
It only works if you're scared
Dry the fear and you have options

Pick someone, anyone
No one ever questions
Run, slow down, run
We're all waiting in the same line

General CommentWhy wasn't this song included on Chase This Light? Crap, the b-sides are so much better than most of the album. Distraction and Take Em As They Come are easily the best two songs from the CTL sessions.

This song is classic Jimmy Eat World. Almost a throwback to the Static days.

General CommentIt's on my copy of Chase This Light too...

I love this song, the whole album for me is filled with feel good music, and this is a great final track. Always seems kind of mischievous to me, it's great. I love it.

And well, I think the meaning is quite straightforward...
