[Travis]
Travie!
(Uh-oh)
Pete, thought I told you
What up, Hemmy
I see you!

I've had the world at arm's length from the get-go
This ain't an arms race, it's Apocalypto
The industry's a target, I suggest these labels get low
On top of that, this track is cracked like burnt brillo (damn)
Consider me the beast of Easter leavened
VIP, all day, AK47
If words is weapons, then get to steppin'
My arsenal's enough to send Hell's Angels to Heaven
I'm cool as the Fonz, and deadly as Charles Bronson
I'm Gonzo, you can call me Travie S. Thompson
Go 'head, and you can choose a similar path
But don't cast yourself up like Sylvia Plath, jeez
Watch Travie take the title with ease
You want a verse, please, I wouldn't bless you if you sneezed (achoo!)
Pardon me, I'm allergic to bullshit
Got a god complex with a full clip (pow!)

[Tyga]
The leader man
Tyga-man make you leave your man
Ladies' man take your main
Im sayin'
this song got me thinkin' out my range
with no piff involved,
my swag flyer than a plane
With the ruly attitude
ignorant, arrogant dude
Excuse me, I'm only seventeen (that's my age)
You're excused, I like your honesty
Honestly, you're more mature than the average teen
And though your label family, you must have a team
Decaydance, preferrably
That'll be next for me (hint hint)
The rest'll be history
Pat tie in until they stop listenin'
Then your baby's back like rims
I know you been missin' me
I almost forgot to mention it
Ever hear a sound like this? (wow!)

[chorus sung by Patrick]
This ain't a scene, it's god-damn arms race! (sing it out loud!)
This ain't a scene, it's god-damn arms race!
I'm not a shoulder to cry on, but I digress
I'm the leadin' man!
and the lies I weave are
oh so intricate!
oh so intricate!

I'm the leadin' man!
and the lies I weave are
oh so intricate!
oh so intricate!

[Kanye West]
Now I dont know what the hell this song is talkin''bout
Do you?
She said Yeah, I been spendin' all day tryin' to figure that out
You too?
The arms race made 'em raise they arm and race straight to the top
Who knew?
Right now they got that number one spot, do you want that? (want that)
Me too
One thing I gotta call out, boy, take a look at Fall Out Boy
Since they aint black, when they get money, they dont ball out, boy
They just buy tight jeans till their nuts hang all out, boy
They figure 'Ye dress tight so we gon dress tighter
He dress white so we gon dress whiter
So in spite of
anything you mightve
seen or heard
This scene occurred
word

I'm the leadin' man!
and the lies I weave are
oh so intricate!
oh so intricate!

I'm the leadin' man!
and the lies I weave are
oh so intricate!
oh so intricate!

[Paul Wall]
Uh
Expensive taste
We up in the arms race

Big money, big crib, big Cadillac
Big daddy, boy, I cup big dro sack (that's right)
Paper stack, big rain, big bling-bling
Try to take big chain, big baybay

[Skinhead Rob]
I'm goin'
I'm goin'
I'm mothafuckin' gone
Ain't no signs that I'm stowin', though I'm knowin' that I'm wrong
Bring it on
Out to get it, I need cash by the stacks
Need a new pair of stacies and a dash for 'Lac, Shaq

[Paul Wall]
Hear that? Top back with woman and grill
Comin' down on the spiderweb chrome wheels
First place in the stuntin' race, top-notch paint
drip drop
flip flop
strap witta glock

[Skinhead Rob]
Live everyday like it's my last one, maybe it is
___________________world of sorrow, maybe it his
I break ribs, break jaws, break laws at most
Still stick to the coast, hold up and reload

[Lupe Fiasco]
There's an arms race, like I'm runnin' on my hands
a dance marathon on my napalms and
drop mine's first so that they bombs can't
and glocks, lasers, missles, beat rocks, paper, scissors
I built mine's big, better build yours bigger
Built mine's quick so I could kill yours quicker
The number one supplier, the world's largest equipper
The second smallest dyer, best non-coexister
I pledge allegiance to gasoline and bulletproof limousines
and leans on the property of the poor
and every night, I pray to the Lords of War
every man and mac eleven
that all good child rebel soldiers go to AK47 heaven
and a landmine in every playground that they step in
and you took the footage from the camera on the tips of our bullets
and record like former darfur [push it]

[chorus]

[Lil Wayne]
Yeah
It's Weezy, baby!
I am your arms dealer
I'm more like an armed dealer
Liter-
-rally
really, I don't get this song neither
but I'ma figure it out like a palm reader and
since I be on TV
I turn it on to see me!
Hey, I'm so cool, even I wanna be me
That was totally off the subject
but for me, every song is like pussy
so fuck it
Like Fresh
you dug it [you dug it, you dug it]

[Pete laughing]

General Commentwell the remix has the same meaning as the original and kanye's addition is pretty straightforward.

General Commenti think that this is a good example where people will start crying "SELL OUT BOY" or something equally not so clever and to that effect. but i think this is showing that they aren't selling out. They are just doing what ever the hell they want. and this is what they wanted to do. I know some of the "die hard fans" would love it if they spit out FUCT or TTTYG again, (or would you?). But true diehards would be able to see them making music is about making music that they want to make and you guys standing behind them. selling out would be them making music just for the public (fans included) and not for them (now do you realize where im headed..) SO if they wanted some hip hop in their music then its up to them! not you! and also i know most of you would have a hissy fit if they didn't grow as artists. and they definatly did. (in my opinon in a good direction)

now to the song. I think the very beginning is a little un-homogonized but it comes together quickly. the lyrics aren't different. Kanye's part is very to the point so meaning wise this isn't so hard. and sound wise i like it. Its fun and funny.

I think they remixed a track for him.. i wanna hear that

General Commentanyone who says this is FOB selling out oviously was never a true fan to begin with b/c the guys in the band have always been into different genres of music, including rap.

and while FOB were up-and-coming Pete and Patrick openly liked Kanye West. so this is just another example of them experimenting. and while I don't like most mainstream rap, I can get down with this remix because it appeals to the two opposites of the spectrum. I like the hip hop element of creating beats and I love rock for the lyrics and vocals. so a combination of those two things is great to me.

I can understand that fans who are not into rap may not like this remix. and that's too bad. there're are regular FOB songs I'm not to fond of but that doesn't mean I'll stop listening to them. it's just a matter of liking or disliking something. and just because you may dislike this song or this band that isn't a reason to bash them on the internet. that's immature and petty and it really just makes the guilty party look like an idiot.

and as for the meaning, same lyrics as the orginial so nothing's changed there. but I do like the addition of Kanye West, despite me thinking Kanye is kinda arrogant.

General CommentI think its nice. Theyre not selling out. They're expanding.
Maybe the disgruntles should be expanding too.

General CommentI think that the song is a joke. It's making fun of their own success and becoming popular to people who know nothing about them

General CommentI love the remix as I'm a fan of many music genres but i can understand why some people might not like it.

But "The arms race made them raise their arm" kinda ruins it. I know Kanye said he doesn't understand the song but it sound so childish.

Apart from that it's a great song and I agree with Sweetheart210, they really are expanding and their music is starting to reflect their own music tastes.

General Commentyeah, this song is kinda weird. but obviously they love rap, because on Timbalands upcoming CD, they're on it. as well as the hives, elton john, she wants revenge, and more. it's weird, but since day one, i always knew all music genres would come together. i just wish people would actually listen to somebody else for a change.
