Oh the suns going down
The nights coming in
I got a brain for business and a body for sin
So shoot like a rocket 'cause my engine is hot
If you want what's forbidden
Baby that's what I got

Sex drive [Repeat: x 6]
Sex drive it sees no gender or color
So lets get together and collide with each other
Sex drive aw you know how it feels
Get out of my car and get under my wheels

Sex drive [Repeat: x 4]
French kisses a thing of the past
Were too young to die so we'd better live fast
The dying is easy the urge is so hard
If your looking for funking then get into my car

I'm a Mercedes Benz why don't you jump in
I got a rear view mirror you can watch us in
The harder you drive the smoother I go
I got my engine running

Sex drive it sees no gender or color
So lets get together and collide with each other
Sex drive aw you know how it feels
Get out of my car and get under my wheels

Oh the suns coming down
The nights coming in
I got a brain for business and a body for sin
So shoot like a rocket 'cause my engine is hot
If you want what's forbidden baby that's what I got

Get under my wheels [Repeat: x 3]

No comments for this absolutely high-energy wickedly fun song?! That should be against the law. It's about sex, Man, pure (well, not really) and simple (hopefully not since simple ain't much fun:). My favorite line: "The dying is easy the urge is so hard." Now that's how you write a song! This keeps me moving at the gym until the young workers interrupt my train of thought with silly questions. Have they no respect for a GOOD tune and a worked up female ;) Arrr Arrr

STILL no additional comments. This is the band's best, although not its most popular (obviously). It's the horny person's song and therefore I listen to it often and LOVE it all the more ;) For goodness sakes, People, check it out on Youtube. You won't be disappointed!

WHAT IS WRONG W/ YOU PEOPLE?!!! No additional comments. Am I the ONLY person to love this song. It's the band's best. It has such energy and it's very sexual. Try sitting still whenever this song plays! Man, some of you need to check out the music from the 70's and 80's; you are REALLY missing out if you are listening only to the current stuff...

The band's best, but it obviously got very little air play back in the day. (Hence, so few comments on this site). You can't even download it off Itunes. I claim this song. It's my future anthem. When you want a song that is about sex, this is it. It's raw. It's blatant. It's extremely sexual. The energy level is addictive, much like sex:)

For goodness sakes, am I the only one who listens to this song (and absolutely loves it)! It's the band's BEST. The energy this song has....makes ya wanna go out and "do the nasty" with the first person who walks by (my luck it would be a large lesbian with cuffs;). If you have yet to hear this song, please look it up via Youtube. It really does get the blood flowing to all the right parts....

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!! Not only is this a great song (such raw energy), but it's the band's best song. As someone who is out of commission for weeks (if not longer), this song is NOT something you wish to listen to; it's really THAT good:)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
