Serpentine love's thighs wrap around me in search for death
Drenched in blood the adored and beloved will give in to'

Love in cold blood
Breathe me in sweet suffering
Love in cold blood
Put me out of my misery

Love's feline eyes in darkness shine on her web
Demonized with divine insight we draw our last breath

Darling take me home
To the castle made of skulls and bones
Sing me a song to remind me where I belong
In your arms, my love, in cold blood

heh heh heh..call me immmature or wateva what is it just me or is this a song about sex with lust but no love. So lust lacks of warmth thus use of the serpentine metaphor && cold blood...where love exudes warm and reverse of serpents....lol. Catchy songg

DANTE'S INFERNO! LOOK IT UP EACH SONG ON THIS ALBUM IS FOR EACH CIRCLE OF HELL. NOTHING TO DO WITH PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

Gotta love the bridge... So the Special K Remix... Reckon it's got anything to do with Placebo?? I mean Placebo have a song called Special K and HIM and Placebo have just toured the US together for Projekt Revolution... I guess we'll just have to wait and see... Unless someone's already heard it? Either way, I've got my Limited Edition pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to hearing it.

They like Placebo very much but I don't think that this is anything to do with them.

By the way, This Song Is Freaking Great! One of the best on Venus Doom. IMO Kiss of Dawn, Love in Cold Blood, Dead Lovers Lane & Cyanide Sun are the best!

I like the music a lot! It's great!

And, as for the lyrics... uh, I don't know, I think it can be about various things, as many Ville's songs.

'Cold blood' - is it cold because he actually has no feelings, as DreamersDisease said, or is it cold because he's dead? Maybe both, conserning Ville's view of love?

I'm trying to find a link between the song an Truman Capote's book 'In Cold Blood'... I think the line "Demonized with divine insight we draw our last breath" is quite creepy. It's a scary idea, realizing that you're about to die...

like i said on the venus doom page venus was the godess of love and doom is death so love is dead.maybe this song is an aftermath to venus doom and love is a crime as severe as murder. u know like killed in cold blood or cold blooded killer

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
