she was quite the loveliest thing that
he had ever seen

she was wearing yellow tights
that went right up to her knees
with a fake chanel and her heart on
a tenner from feller on the high streets
went into the corner shop
to buy some fags and a lollipop
to make herself look alluring
to make herself look alluring

now matthew was infatuated
by such a beautiful girl
her confidence, it radiated
and made him feel quite special
She was quite the loveliest thing that
he had ever seen

he followed her into joe's diner
taking care not to be seen
watched her order
and finish it off with vanilla ice cream
as he tried his best to look convincing
hoping his face wouldn't make her wince
He opened his mouth to say hello
he opened his mouth to say hello

and matthew was infatuated by such a beautiful girl
her confidence, it radiated
and made him feel quite special
she was quite the loveliest thing that
he had ever seen

"um... hi my name is, um...
and i think that you look really, really... um...
um... i was just wondering if, i mean,
obviously, if you don't, then that's fine,
but i mean, but if you do then, well,
i'd like to make you mine."

now matthew was infatuated by such a beautiful girl
her confidence, it radiated
and made him feel quite special
She was quite the loveliest thing that
he had ever seen
he had ever seen
he had ever...

    General Commentlove this song!

couple of errors on the lyrics though, it:

"with a fake chanel under her arm
a tenner from the feller on the high street"

    and

"hoping that his face wouldn't make her wince
he opened his mouth to say hello"

don't mean to be nitpicky just noticed them as I was looking through :)

anyway I love this song, and I think its really sweet that she wrote it for her friend :)
