Chorus:

Just trying to meet you
Hey you across from the bar
I ain’t no pimp or athlete or hip hop star
Just trying to meet you
I'm just a regular guy
I don't make that much money girl I aint gotta lie

1st Verse:

Excuse me can I buy you an orange juice?
No? Wow you're honest aren't you?
It befits you may I assist you?
You look kinda sad can I offer a tissue?
(You're crazy) There's that grin
Its been gone for awhile huh? Don't pretend
Why? Your exboyfriend he did what?
He broke up with you because you didn't have a butt
Wow the LL Cool J syndrome its popular
But he's a weirdo I don't need no binoculars
To see you're fine all these girls can't reach you hey

Chorus:

Just trying to meet you
Hey you across from the bar
I aint no pimp or athlete or hip hop star
Just trying to meet you
I'm just a regular guy
I don't make that much money girl I aint gotta lie
Just trying to meet you
But if you give me a chance
Ill take you to The Derby
And I'll teach you how to dance with me
Just trying to meet you
And you gonna peep how I sway
And when we at the movies girl you ain’t gotta pay

Bridge

That's my guarantee
That's my guarantee
You get your money back for free girl
If you ain’t feeling me (2x)

Now bring it down

2nd Verse:

Ok so that was a long chorus
But I really wanted to let you know I adore yas
(What?) The way you drink your beer in a wine glass
Its kind of weird but I don't know where to find that
Plus you got the bomb haircut
Or hairdo whatever baby yo you know what's up
And it clear I'm feeling you can I take and deliver you?
Show you off to all my friends who were planning on stealing you
Ok cool where shall we go?
(Kate Mantillini's!) OK girl take it slow
First we start at Taco Bell I'ma have to teach you

Chorus:

Just trying to meet you
Hey you across from the bar
I aint no pimp or athlete or hip hop star
Just trying to meet you
I'm just a regular guy
I don't make that much money girl I aint gotta lie
Just trying to meet you
But if you give me a chance
I’ll take you to The Derby
And I'll teach you how to dance with me
Just trying to meet you
And you gonna peep how I sway
And when we at the movies girl you ain’t gotta pay

Now bring it down (x2)

He always has such honest, funny lyrics. This songis pretty straight forward. He's trying to pick up girls from wherever, but he's not a superstar or anything and yet he's still trying.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
