Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Only fifteen put under pressure
First month 27th day
They took away my mother
I was left to be raised by my brother

Taught to be a hustler
Mommy gone gotta stick together
Stay strong through the stormy weather
Became a top seller, look how we stacking this cheddar
When you jump mommy life would be better
Just like Rihanna you can stand under my umbrella

You know how to make me better
Even when we lose our cheddar
Even through the stormy weather
You hold me down

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Seventeen got a little money
Feeling kinda blue
'Cause it's looking you doing 10 to 20
Riding being broke ain't funny

It's all being hungry
But I'm a keep hustling for my mommy
Until I get rich like puffy
Never had a blamby

You said I can be all I can be
Some day I'm a buy you Miami
So when I win my Grammy
You coming 'cause I do this for my family

You know how to make me better
Even when we lose our cheddar
Even through the stormy weather
You hold me down

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Seventeen now my mommy's gone
Can't wait till she come back home
Missing her face like dust 'till dawn
While she went away
Never think it'd be so long

I feel like crying while I'm writing this song
Can't wait till that day come on
When she leave the place

Hey whats up mom? How you doing?
It's been about two years since I saw your face
I miss you like crazy
Know the money orders, the prepaid costs

Being on my own
No Knee, Kurt, Canino
But I love you though
This for you

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

Mommy just dry your eyes, mommy don't you cry
I know we've been through hard times and the struggles
And I just wanna tell you I love you

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
