"Bodhi Sappy Weekend" as written by and Brendan Canning Kevin Drew....
With the pressure kids
And the master face
Take the temperature
But please don't scratch me out

We will close at five
Guess we both can wait
I built enough for sure
Please don't scratch me out

And life lines
Live below the waist
Well, it's a catcher
Please don't scratch me out

You can fuss and fight
You can figure it
And don't look first
Please don't scratch me out

And all the men arrive
And all the women leave
This blood isn't yours
Please don't scratch me out

It's a still life
That we celebrate
And with such a mouth
Please don't scratch me out

General CommentThe second half can be viewed as extremely sexual. Intended or not.
The last stanza could very well refer to new life (sperm/semen) that we celebrate inside your mouth - to me, is kinda obviously, giving head and swallowing. It seems to fit his style.
Either way, I absolutely love this song. Love it!

General CommentThe Buddha became enlightened under the Bodhi tree.

The song is, I think, about accepting the futility of life and the inevitability of death, and loving in spite of it. 'Please don't scratch me out' is a plea not to God (or any other omnipresent or supernatural force) but, merely, to his lover.

with our clothes on fire I guess we both can wait I built an ark for sure

and the life lines live below the waist it's a capturer

you can force a fight you can fake a rape but don't look first

and all the men are white and the women late this blood isn't yours

this is new life that we celebrate inside your mouth.
