This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
If you don't believe me,
If you don't like my plans,
You mustn't tell me,
How I know your face like the back of my hands.
We walk the city,
I talk to you, understand
So won't you tell me.
How I know this place like the back of my hand.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me, out there.
And I know you're near me.
I know you understand.
Say that you're with me.
Say you know my face like the back of your hands.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me, out there.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Out there
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Hey yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Hey yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
There, there
February air, air
And I know this place like the back of my hands
If you don't like my plans,
You mustn't tell me,
How I know your face like the back of my hands.
We walk the city,
I talk to you, understand
So won't you tell me.
How I know this place like the back of my hand.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me, out there.
And I know you're near me.
I know you understand.
Say that you're with me.
Say you know my face like the back of your hands.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me, out there.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Out there
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Hey yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Hey yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
My arms get cold,
In February air.
Please don't lose hold of me out there.
There, there
February air, air
And I know this place like the back of my hands

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
this girl is amazing her music is like a breath of fresh air. she is going places
as for the song... im not too sure what it is about what it reminds me of is wanting to get away from the things you know so well
in video interviews she says that she wrote it during valentines and that she had just moved into toronto and she didn't know anyone and she just wanted someone to hold or be with or something, that's why it's called "february" air
she's also probably talking about her parents when she says "Please don't lose hold
Of me, out there" since she was only 18 when she moved out.

and i kinda doubt that it'd be a song about a guy or whatever bc she says she doesn't really write songs about that stuff.
i think its about being in love and hoping that the other person feels the same.
of all places, I found this song on a demo for a new sony erricson walkman phone. it was the only song stored on it.
This is a fantastic, sincere pop song and i hope she goes on to release an album. and she's gorgeous....
the song seems like being in love and just being with each other sooo much and they enjoy it soo much and she still wants him to hold on to her and never let go
i love this song, and the girl that sings this song is reallllllly pretty, and i lovvve her voice!
*If I know you're near me [is actually] "And I know you're near me"
the cool thing about this song is that it can be interpreted in several ways ... when i hear this i think that its the voice of that person that you've always dreamt of but never met , and how he/she's saying that to never "lose hold" of the hope of being with them
I like this interpretation a lot...lol.
*Do you know my face like the back of your hand? [is actually] "So you know my face like the back of your hand"
And in the second to last line "air" is only said twice
for the last line its "and i know this place like the back of my hand" not "face", "place" :)
i know this song like the back of my hand man!
i think this song is for the people who know they have something good with someone but they are not doing anything about it. that they shouldn't ignore what it is in front and grab hold on before they lose that person completely.
