"Shim Sham" as written by Roddy Christopher Bottum, William Mark Schwartz, Joan Marie Stebbins and Lynn Elise Truell....
We had a party at the Shim Sham club
Youth in motion doubled up the buzz
Back and forth and back and in between
We sang and danced; the band was Rock*A*Teen (Oh oh)
Delinquent girls, we stayed up all night (Oh oh oh oh)
Spray-painting walls under suburban lights (Oh oh)
Then and now seems like a different scene (Oh oh oh oh)
We lived to live, whatever's meant to be

So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)

Driving to and from a favorite city (Oh oh)
Sharing stories of celebrity (Oh oh oh oh)
A break in time left irresistible space (Oh oh)
Filled in by punk rock and a storefront face

So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)

We had a party at the Shim Sham club
Youth in motion doubled up the buzz
Then and now seems like a different scene
Still live to live, whatever's meant to be (Oh oh)
Hung out on staircases in dirty places (Oh oh oh oh)
Looking for the next of many faces (Oh oh)
On the path less taken we were meeting (Oh oh oh oh)
Making friends for life in memory's keeping

So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)
So pretty, so pretty, so pretty
Oh oh oh oh (Oh oh)

General Commentthis song is rather simple, unusual for this band but i think it's straight forward, it's just about growing up as kids in the music scene and how it's changed.
one of the best imperial teen songs ever by the way besides sugar.
