Sittin in the corner I see
the life he faced
Struggled within
so strong
A life in the day..
.. Remember a time ago
when life seemed too real
My heart has fallen down
and I forget how to feel
Although he's not my blood it..
it feels just the same
Brings us all closer together
just you here with me
I think, man I think we should
If we all could live forever
don't you think we would
Listen for the calling out to me
my life at hand
Cryin' out now
what is real?
Cryin' out now
what is real?
And I begin to drown
Kickin', cryin'
live in pain
I begin to drown!

General CommentI don't know what inspired these lyrics. A lot of this band's lyrics are plain and simple but the music really tells the story, it's quite an emotional song.

General CommentI believe Shawn (guitarist, vox) wrote this about one of the experiences a band member had with a girlfriend years back. This song is a bit like Cemetery Gates by Pantera, except colder and expresses self doubt as a result of this. And he actually says "Yeah" after a slight pause, not care. He also actually says "my love at hand". The drowning allusion at the end is of course, the member slipping deeper into depression.
