Turn the TV off!
You got another dead kid with a high school ring and it's glorified all over the screen.
What's with this world and its social horror scene?
Look at me on NBC,
I got a gun in my hand, I'll make the whole world understand how good this feels to cause a tragedy.

Reporting live tonight, we paint this picture, oh, just right.
The schoolhouse doors were blasted open wide:
Murder, suicide, 3 students died.
There were 7 more down on the floor, there were a dozen little girls who begged the Lord,
"Please let me survive!", as they were locked up inside.

Won't it bring you down?
This isn't over now.
Your prayers are only whispers to the clouds.
You're crying oh so loud, and no one hears your sound, preparing for your journey to the ground.

Memories of your babies, you'll never see, you're just pretending.
You'll try, and it's all you do.
You never thought that this could happen to you.

Turn the TV off!
You got another dead kid with a high school ring and it's glorified all over the screen.
What's with this world and its social horror scene?

Won't it bring you down?
This isn't over now.
Your prayers are only whispers to the clouds.
You're crying oh so loud, and no one hears your sound, preparing for your journey to the ground.

No matter what you do, the pain comes to you.

General Commentif you have the CD the song meanings are in the book.
    for this song its:
"this song was inspired by the shootings that happened in the Amish country in the summer of '06. Its pretty disgusting but basically, an ordinary milkman lost his mind, ran into a school, lined up a bunch of girls and shot them. He then shot himself. I was really bothered by it. there were more shootings right around that time, and there was a shooting attempt foiled down in south jersey. Ya know, im not even against killing. Like if someone was trying to kill me, I would definitly try to kill them first. If someone physically hurt someone I loved and i had a weapon. I'd probably snap and who knows. But come the fuck on........ the other part of the song was to the families of the victoms. The news makes it almost cool to do this shit in a way that they broadcast how bad it is to shoot someone and it's such a tragedy. When certain things are seen on TV it doesn't seem like such a big deal because people are numb to it. The media should have SOME respect for personal shit. I almost regret recording this song for this very reason"

General CommentThis song is my favorite song ever recorded. At first, I heard it on an online radio. I liked the tune, I added it to my iPod right before a trip. On the plane I got out my iPod and started listening. "Wow, I really like this song," I was thinking. As i got more into the song, I was paying close attention to the words. I realised the lyrics matched exactly what had recently happened : The Lancaster School House shooting. Since I attend a private school, i remember we took five minutes to pray for those victims one day. I think it was really good for The High Court to interpret these lyrics in their song. Because now, more people take notice of it, and will be remembered. I think that more songs should have meanings of the world in them. If you listen to "Evening News" by Chamillionaire, it talks about George Bush, gas prices, and other problems. I think that's great for everyone. Because you don't see most teenagers these days reading the paper or watching the news.

General CommentTo me this song is just talking about how unbelievable it is that so many violent tragedies occur all over the world, but especially in the united states. They are given all the headlines and in a way this is glorifying their horrible crimes. (Although this probably isn't the intended in the song,) I take from the song that when terrible crimes and killings are going on in the world and I'm complaining or worrying about something stupid like girls or school, my troubles are far less important, and sometimes we have to step back and realize things could be much worse. So our prayers compared to the prayers of these victims are only whispers to the clouds, in comparison.
Idk, thats just my own personal meaning.

Tell me what you think about that....
