Things happen for a reason
i never meant to hurt you.
And i can see your face
every night in a dream.

Blue skies surround my head
as i stand outside your window.
and there's a voice inside my head
telling me to go back home.
But i can't
i will not let this rest
until you know.

That nothing turns out the way you planned it.
And love's just a word and i can't stand it.
Im leaving this note at the end of the hall way.
I asked would you be there and you said "always".

That nothing turns out the way you planned it.
And love's just a word and i can't stand it.
Im leaving this note at the end of the hall way.
I asked would you be there and you said "always".

Standing on the tiles of New York city
a wind blows down my neck.
A public worker in the middle streets
telling me to "to move alone"
Alone
Alone
Alone.

That nothing turns out the way you planned it.
And love's just a word and i can't stand it.
Im leaving this note at the end of the hall way.
I asked would you be there and you said "always".

General CommentWhen people think of an Astronaut, they often think of people in big white suits with oxygen helmets. When I think of an Astronaut, I think of someone that is 1000's of miles from home and in some way, that's how a lot of people feel at times in their life. The song is about a person that's had to leave his home for unannounced reasons and is recalling a promise that was made to them by a lover, but never kept and they are trying to cope with it and tell themselves that everything is alright, but they can not help the feeling of sadness and being alone.
