You know we're moving along
x4

I wish I could have told you
All the things I wanted to say
In the sheets
I kept real quiet
These motions are useless
That's what I'd say
I remember when you rode down
on the metro
Just to tell me
'Love is real'
Love is real
But that's not how I feel

You get close
I keep my distance
I never thought I would miss this
I think somethings going wrong
You can feel it in this song
x2

You know we're moving along
x2

I never felt more like dying
When you left
I felt so empty
My body aches
I'm so damn cold
I still can't feel you inside of me
Now I feel
Like nothings working
This pain is growing
Now I'm asking
Was it real?
Was it real?
I can't stop what I feel

You get close
I keep my distance
I never thought I would miss this
I think somethings going wrong
You can feel it in this song
x2

You know we're moving along
x2

General Commenti agree with the part about not being open enough to the girl, and then he was upset that she left and he regrets it, but he decided that he's going to move on..lol just a guess...

General CommentThis is my favorite unreleased Metro Station song. I LOVE it.

To me, it sounds like Trace or Mason...whoever wrote the song...was with this girl and she was completely in love with him, but he wasn't really feeling it. "These motions are useless, that's what I'd say." He wanted to tell her he wasn't really into it, but he held back. When they finally broke up, he felt bad, and he questioned himself. "Now I'm asking, was it real?" But he says he can't stop what he feels, so basically he's confused about love.

    General Comment/mason wrote it.
this and after the fall are my favorite"Back in the day" songs.
I remeber when they were just starting out now their getting big.
I agree with makencheezie. I think that she really loved him and he wasnt sure. He was going to tell her and than she lfeft. And he really starts to miss her and he's questioning himself that he may have actually loved her.
I pretty much just repeated makencheezie.
haha but i worded it differently.

General Commenti always thought he said "you can prosecute my distance"
but i guess "you get close i keep my distance" makes more sense haha.
i think it's just confusion about love, if it's real or not. i hope it is :)
