Walking in place,
with the smoke out of our face,
and then we see you.

Hellos and goodbyes,
the door still shuts in our eyes,
and we still leave you.

And all that is hoped for
is after this while girl,
i hope that you smile,
while you're singing.
After your smiles gone
and after that time girl,
lord after this while, you're singing.

Turn to your friends,
and then we'll ask you again,
if it was alright.
Round some other bend
to some other end to some other,
or some other night.

And all that is hoped for
is after this while girl,
i hope that you smile,
while you're singing.
After your smiles gone
and after that time girl,
lord after this while, you're singing.

MemoryI cannot truly attest to the meaning of this song, but it never fails to bring memories of a certain friend of mine. She has been my favorite human being for a while now, but she's too caught up in what she is used to to really give me a chance. There is a lengthy, complex story behind it, but I won't get into it. This just makes me think: "I don't care what she thinks of me, I just hope that, no matter what, she can enjoy herself and is fulfilled in whatever she does."
Whatever happens, I hope that you smile while you are singing.
