"Is It Progression If A Cannibal Uses A Fork?" as written by and Bell Didier....
Listen up, sweetie, we all know
That you're a beautiful girl in this horrible world
In this suggestion of horror, the portraits on the walls
Look at their eyes, they always seem to follow

Look at their eyes, they always seem to follow me

Out of tune this tale of terror
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
Where every day's a Bone Palace Ballet

Biting the flesh from your finger
You know I just can't help myself
I wish to believe but belief is a graveyard
May this light never see morning, as finally one will not

Maybe you're the one that's overrated
Shriek and scream, much too horrified to speak

Out of tune this tale of terror
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
Where every day's a Bone Palace Ballet
Every day, [Incomprehensible]

This morning I woke up, I rubbed my eyes
And I took a quick glance around the room
And saw what happened here last night

There was blood on the walls
And the sheets smelled like sweat and sex
We have narrowed it down to the butcher knife
And the mockingbird with the blood

Out of tune this tale of terror
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
Where every day's a Bone Palace Ballet

General Commenthey everyone, you should stop thinking you know everything cuz i have not seen a single comment with the right lyrics. ....we have narrowed it down to the butcherknife and the mockingbird, WISH US LUCK. it was taken from a charles bukowski poem called No Title. I wish to believe but belief is a graveyard is another line in that poem. I love chiodos but a lot of this album is taken from bukowski's poems, and i think it's cool that they can do that and make it sound good, but they should write their own stuff. just wanted to say that cuz i'm sick of seeing with the blood. and the lyrics in the lyric book are right most of the time, the part that you don't hear in this song is actually said at the same time as the talking part, it's just in the background. open your ears and you'll hear it.

Song MeaningThe chorus is from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Bells," which is just about the progression of life...Step 1: being born, Step 2: Growing up and getting married, Step 3: Death, and Step 4: The afterlife. This song is about getting married and being betrayed...The hell that life really is.

    "The Bells"
    Edgar Allan Poe

Hear the loud alarm bells ---
    Brazen bells!
What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells!
In the startled ear of night
How the scream out their affright!
    Too much horrified to speak,
    They can only shriek, shriek,
    Out of tune,
In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire,
In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire,
    Leaping higher, higher, higher,
    With a desperate desire,
    And a resolute endeavor
Now --- now to sit, or never,
By the side of the pale-faced moon.
    Oh, the bells, bells, bells!
What a tale their terror tells
    Of despair!

    ^^^^^
    See? (:
I had to read this poem for my English class, and I was like, whoa! Chiodos! Edgar Allan Poe kicks ass! (:(:(:

General CommentOk here are the correct ones ;)

    Listen up sweetie
We all know that you're a beautiful girl in this horrible world
    and this suggestion of horror
    The portraits on the walls
The look in their eyes they always seem to follow

    The look in their eyes
they always seem to follow me!!

Out of tune this tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know whats going on in that pretty little head of yours

Everyday is a bone palace ballet

Biting the flesh from your finger
You know I just cant help myself
I wish to believe but belief is a graveyard
May this night never see morning
    it's finally worth it now
Maybe you're the one thats overrated.
shriek and scream much too horrified to speak

Out of tune this tale of terror
the slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know whats going on in that pretty little head of yours
Everyday is a bone palace ballet

    Everyday!

This morning i woke up i rubbed my eyes
and i took a quick glance around the room
and saw what happened here last night
there was blood on the walls
and the sheets smelled like sweat and sex
we have narrowed it down to a butcher knife
and the mockingbird with the blood.

Out of tune this tale of terror
the slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know whats going on in that pretty little head of yours

General Commentwell.. this song is different.. not one of their best songs in my opinions but its not bad
i think its about a girl likeing him but him not likeing her back and he basically gives into the temptation of her even though he knows he shouldnt and realizes the mistake he made afterward
idk maybe this is completly off but w.e

General Commenthey, i think it says "and this suggestion of horror"
not "in this suggestion of horror".

in reference to "this horrible world", meaning that the horrible world is the suggestion of horror which, should leave them as a connected sentence

General Commenti think this song is amazing, but i just dont see wat happened with them staying away from the verse, chorus, verse thing. cause it says it in their band bio on their myspace that they avoided that. but it seems like this song feel into it.

General Commenti think this is right, but its missing a few words:

    Listen up, sweetie
We all know that you're a beautiful girl
    In this horrible world
    In this suggestion of horror
    The portraits on the walls
(The look in their eyes; they always seem to follow)
(The look in their eyes; they always seem to follow me)

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Every day is a bone palace ballet

Biting the flesh from your finger
You know I just can't help myself
    I wish to believe
    But belief is a graveyard
May this night never see morning
    It's finally worth it now
Maybe you're the one that's overrated
    Shriek and scream
    Much too horrified to speak

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Every day is a bone palace ballet
    Every day

    This morning I woke up
    I rubbed my eyes
And I took a quick glance around the room
And saw what happened here last night
There was blood on the walls
And sheets smelled like sweat and sex
    We have narrowed it down
To the butcher knife and mockingbird
    With the blood

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Every day is a bone palace ballet

and i think this version fill in all the missing words:

    Listen up, sweetie
We all know that you're a beautiful girl
    In this horrible world
    And this suggestion of horror;
(in) The portraits of the walls
The look in their eyes; they always seem to follow
The look in their eyes; they always seem to follow me

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Where every day is a bone palace ballet

Biting the flesh from your finger
You know I just can't help myself(help myself...)
    I wish to believe
    But belief is a graveyard
May this night never see morning
    It's finally worth it now
Maybe you're the one that's overrated
    Shriek and scream
    Much too horrified to speak!

    Go!(?)

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Where every day is a bone palace ballet
    Every Day!
    Every Day!

    This morning I woke up
    I rubbed my eyes
And I took a quick glance around the room
And saw what happened here last night
There was blood on the walls
And sheets smelled like sweat and sex
    We have narrowed it down
To the butcher knife and the mockingbird
    With the blood

    Out of tune
    This tale of terror
The slow tolling of the funeral bell
I want to know what's going on
In that pretty little head of yours
Where every day is a bone palace ballet
