In a dream you were there, it was real
I could almost see the wrinkles in your skin,
Images so vivid still
Perhaps the next best thing to being there
Is knowing where you are
Though I cannot cross the chasm
I believe you're moving on
God, if you can hear me,
Take this lump out of my throat.
It seems I only laugh in photographs
Of melting snow and video but oh
This is my favorite time of year.
At least it used to be when she was here

General CommentSo what do you guys think this is about? I think it's about a lost child. Ergo, a baby (the "wrinkles on your skin", etc) that died within a short time after birth. He makes it sound as if he was so ecstatic when she was living but now that she's gone he's upset (obviously). He knows she's in Heaven, hence the "the next best knowing where you are" and "I cannot cross the chasm". Nice tidbit added between the songs though.

General CommentIt's about his mom. Daniel's mom was older (thus the wrinkles). He was really upset. but he's 100% sure she's in heaven.

it's beautiful. A lot of the songs about his mom are comforting when you lose someone. You can really connect...
