"Mouthwash" as written by and Kate Marie Nash....
This is my face
Covered in freckles
With the occasional spot
And some veins

This is my body
Covered in skin
And not all of it
You can see

And, this, is my mind
It goes over and over
The same old lines

And, this, is my brain
It's torturous analytical thoughts
Make me go insane

And I use mouthwash
Sometimes I floss
I got a family
And I drink cups of tea

I've got nostalgic pavements
I've got familiar faces
I've got a mixed-up memory
And I've got favourite places

And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
This is my face

I've got a thousand opinions
And not the time to explain

And this is my body
And no matter how you try and disable it
Yes I'll still be here

And, this, is my mind
And although you try to infringe
You cannot confine

And, this, is my brain
And even if you try and hold me back
There's nothing that you can gain

'Cause I use mouthwash
Sometimes I floss
I've got a family
And I drink cups of tea

I've got nostalgic pavements
I've got familiar faces
I've got a mixed-up memory
And I've got favourite places

I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
And I'm singing "oh oh" on a Friday night
And I hope everything's gonna be alright
Oh oh oh oh oh oh

General CommentThis just sums up to me how much I respect Kate for being herself. I love her upfront way of presenting herself and everyday situations that I've never thought about before and not covering up anything 0 good or bad. Mouthwash is so ordinary and I love this song!

General Commentalthough i originally thought it was (and thought it made sense) im pretty sure the lyrics are not "sitting at home on a friday night".

sounds like "singing uh-oh on a friday night"

General CommentI think it's 'nostalgic pavement'

and i think its 'singing uh-oh on a friday night' as well.

oh and 'cups' instead of 'lots' of tea...'cause the tea's important =]

General CommentIt is "singing uh-oh on a friday night".
The basic concept of the song is just to represent herself as a down-to-earth ordinary girl in an ordinary world. I get the feeling that the "This is my body, covered in skin, not all of it you can see" line is a dig at women in music who use skimpy clothes and sexual suggestion to sell records, whilst she's not like that.

General CommentYeah, 'mixed up memories', 'singing uh-oh on a Friday night', 'nostalgic pavement' and 'cups of tea' :]
Most love this song. Too catchy.
I think its her trying to say that shes down to earth and shes just an ordinary girl. Shes not one of those girls that think they're all that and parade around wearing hardly anything, "This is my body, covered in skin, and not all of it you can see".
    Nice one, lovely song :]

General Commentthis song is so catchy, with such great lyrics!
it's amazing how kate can mix the both together - all the great tunes have rubbish lyrics and all the ones with great lyrics are really slow, boring, accoustic things.
