through wooden double doors,
like walking through a time machine
but destination not set back to a date of great significance
not time nor place that might spark important controversial
and social discussions at the tip of a thrusting vocalized spit sward
not science nor religion defied
not the place great historians rigorously and brutally debate over
inside text books and universities
no
these wooden doors
cracked and sullen, fat from their lonley years of humidity and quiet as the tree they came from
popped the cork of a tragic day

General CommentThis song STILL has me going.

I just love it to bits.
And Sonny Moores solo project is perfection tbh.
His lyrics are so meaningful and breathtaking.

Im guessing thats what the other comment meant ^.^

General CommentI think this has to do with the old-school thinking of somekind of group of people or country.

Like maybe a Catholic or Mormon church. As soon as you enter its like you enter another time and place.

Or maybe the upbringings of a really old school mom/dad?

General CommentFor some reason, when I first heard this song, I instantly thought of a wake where no one attended. Like the song describes the church where the wake is being held, but no ones there because no one knew the person that had passed. No one's going to remember that person, no one will say great things about them as time passes, nor will they know the accomplishments that person had made, if any.

The fact that no one came just amplified the fact of that person's death even more so.

But then again, I could be completely wrong on this. It's just a simple thought that popped into my head when I first heard the song. Sonny's lyrics are so ambiguous now that he is doing his own thing. I mean, when he wrote for FFTL, it's meaning was somewhat obvious and you could immeditely understand its meaning, but now he really makes you think.

    Sonny's a real, true poet.
