"Ready, Set, Don't Go" as written by and Beathard/cyrus....
She's gotta do what she's gotta do
And I've gotta like it or not
She's got dreams too big for this town
And she needs to give them a shot
Whatever they are

Looks like she's all ready to leave
Nothing left to pack
There ain't no room for me in that car
Even if she asked me to tag along
God I gotta be strong

She's at the starting line of the rest of her life
As ready as she's ever been
Got the hunger and the stars in her eyes
The prize is hers to win
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Baby get ready
Get set
Don't go

She says things are fallen into place
Feels like they're fallen apart
I painted this big old smile on my face
To hide my broken heart
If only she knew
This is where I don't say what I want so bad to say

This is where I want to but I won't get in the way
Of her and her dreams
And spreading her wings

She's at the starting line of the rest of her life
As ready as she's ever been
Got the hunger and the stars in her eyes
The prize is hers to win
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Baby get ready
Get set
Don't go

She's at the starting line of the rest of her life
As ready as she's ever been
Got the hunger and the stars in her eyes
The prize is hers to win
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Baby get ready
Get set
Don't go

Don't go
Don't go
She's gotta do what she's gotta do
She's gotta do what she's gotta do

General CommentIt's beautiful. Although I don't like listening to his music this song is absolutely beautiful.

And we can all tell it's about his daughter, and how she's 'spreadin' her wings' and taking off. She's living her dreams, but he doesn't want to let his baby girl go yet.

General CommentCCT is right on... but I don't have a daughter, so it is real easy to turn the song into one about the person you love leaving you.

You knwo it's best for her to leave, but that it probably isn't nest for you. You try to be the stand-up guy and get in the way of her dreams, because you want her to be happy, you truly do. But everything inside you is screaming not to let her leave. But you put on a fake face, and you say what you "should" say, but it kills you.

Great job by BRC of making the song double-edged.

General Commentgod! the first time I heard this song was on the show Hannah Montana. they were on the airplane and he was leaving miley. thats what happened with me. it may not have been the same kind of leavng. but he was letting her go and trusting her. But everytime i hear this song i just start crying. I guess its pretty bad when you start crying wathcing hannah montana.

General CommentI Love this son because it reminds me of my life.
I'm a daddy's girl... always have been and always will be. This song says that all dads have trouble letting go of their daughters. I'm my mommy and daddys only child and in 3 months I am going to frace for 10 days and I think this song is perfect for him.... letting him know that even though he loves me at some point you need to let me go so i can live my life.
This song is an anthem to all fathers who have little girls and know what it feels like to know that one day they need to let us go

General CommentThis song is soo sad! Every time I listen to it I feel like crying. Im 18 and about to move out of my house and leave my parents behind. Im a mommies girl and I know this song is about a daddies girl but I always think about leaving my mom every time. It makes me not want to go but I have to live my dreams. I absolutely love this song.

MemoryWhen I took my little girl to Miley's concert last year this song played over the intercom while we were waiting for the concert to begin (which was hours, because it was so crazy getting in there). Myself and all the other parents sitting around us were in agreement that this one makes us cry every single time... to think of your little babies growing up, and you're so proud of who they've become but you just don't want to let them go. Very sweet.
