"White Unicorn" as written by Andrew James Stockdale, Myles Heskett and Christopher James Ross....
Have you been to the carnival?
I would like to see you
There's a whole lot of people there
Who would like to be you
With the white unicorn across her shoulder?
Makes you think that she might have been
Someone who's older, ah, yeah

Oh, it's on your eyes
With a drink from her wine
But we drank for the seventh time
Now we live in another time
We could live together

She lives on the borderline that they call hazel
And the tent that she lives in has the name of her lover
As she lays down to rest, she dreamt of another
Of a time when she once had

[Chorus x 2]

We could live together

General CommentI think that this song is about a girl at a carnival that thelead singer knows, maybe is/was friends with, but then fell in love with, and now dreams of a future with her: "We could live together...". But then she moved on with the carnies and he misses her desperately, so much that everywhere he looks he sees her face: "She left without a word...How many days must I still wonder why, and see her face in every passer by".
At least, that's what I get from this song. Tis really quite awesome, more people should know about Wolfmother. They rock. The End.

General CommentNo-one has commented this song!?
Lead singer (forget the name) says that the carnival represents the coolest parts of his childhood. He was brought up there as his mother was a performer. I really don't know what the song is about.
    Any opinions anyone?
PS. Wolfmother is one of the most awesome bands to ever come out of Australia.

General CommentI think this song is about a girl that the singer knew from his days at the carnivals.

"With the white unicorn, across her shoulder
Makes you think that she might of been
    Someone who’s older, ahh yeahhh"

When I hear the white unicorn across her shoulder I think of a sash or cape of sorts that had some sort of title. As someone above said, white has often stood for innocence but I believe the unicorn stands for nobility or wisdom. To put it simply, this girl is probably a kind, quiet and beautiful woman that the singer instantly feels drawn to.

"And i know its on your mind
we've been drinking on the wine
that we drank from the serpents vine
Now we live in another time"

I honestly don't know what this is about, if I had to guess it would have a slight connection with Apple Tree and Colossal for its primitive references. The singer may feel that he is fated to be with her but they have forgotten/are unable to because of other factors.

"As she lays down to rest, she dreamt of another,
Of a time when she once had, someone to love her, "

That other could be the singer or someone else entirely. The main point is that he feels that she needs someone to love again and that he is that one.

"sister can you tell me when the day turns to night
she left without a word and wondered inside
how many days must i still wonder why
and see her face in every passer by"

I can't be sure but I've always thought sister in this sense refers to some sort of fortune teller/carnival woman whom the singer goes to, to ask about this girl that has left. The line about "seeing her face in every passerby" shows how that chance for something so good that is not haunts him now.

General CommentI'm curious as to what "sister" means in their songs. It's used several times in different songs from both the main album and Cosmic Egg, so I'm curious about it's significance. (It is used in the same context I think in every song it appears in)
