"Pull The Curtain" as written by and Deryck Jason Whibley....
(Where'd I go wrong?)
Pull the curtain, begin
Bear a noise, wearing thin now
It's wearing thin now
(Where'd I go wrong?)
Close my eyes, realize
I've become the victimized now
Desensitized now

The one and only day has come
I'll pay for all the bad things I've done

(Where'd I go wrong?)
Something's wrong because I find the glamor
In the dark side
In the dark side
(Where'd I go wrong?)
Cheap regrets, can't forget
Falling victim to the debt still
Unpaid in my mind

The one and only day has come
I'll pay for all the bad things I've done

It's gonna take me; you don't know tragedy
I've been to Hell and back, and can't ya tell it?
Close my eyes and lay me down to sleep
I fear the worst might be the object's to explode
And my time is up, so
Why can't I just lie?

The living dead awake, the horror show begins
So pull the curtains over me
(Bring on the panic, the un-controlling manic
It's a free-for-all commandment, every last word
And I don't care)
(Bring on the panic, the un-controlling manic
It's a free-for-all commandment, every last one of you

Suffocate the dreams in my mind
(Well, I can't stop believing)
Drown the thoughts that have me confined
(Something's hard to believe in)
Murder dreams as black as the night
(That I am told to forget)
No one told the end is a lie
Suffocate the dreams in my mind
Drown the thoughts that have me confined
Murder dreams as black as the night
No one told the end is a lie

Now we're gone, do you still feel
The same? Well, now, can't you see?
I need help to stop me from myself
Well, can't you help me now?

General CommentThis is my favourite song on the cd and to me it sounds as if he's waking up in a metaphor kind of way... waking up to the fear (paranoia) and robotic lives that we live in society... and I don't mean that in an emo way... it's quite political.
The first verse says a lot of that... right away it's "paranoia's wearing thin now" and then "close my eyes, realize I've become the victimized now, desensitized now."
And then talking about "The living dead awake" meaning we're like zombies and all of a sudden we wake up to the violent ways we live and that we're exposed to without thought (desensitized). One last line that makes me think this is "something's wrong because I, find the glamour in the darkside." But it also sounds like there's more to the song, I think that's just one aspect of it... thoughts?

General CommentIn the chorus it's "Gutter dreams as black as the night". Not "Good Dreams"

General CommentOh and it's I "I feel the worst, my beating heart takes to explote" not "might be the urgence takes to explode".In a live version he pointed to his chest.

Another thing, it's "A free for all kill them all, every last one of them, not a "free for all kill memo every last word"

Lastly, it's "Do you still feel the same way now" not "Do you still feel the same? Well now"

General CommentThx alot NashCanada I still think Canada is boring but most Canadians have better morals than Americans. Um yeah I just wanted to talk about the song bcuz that is what this website is really about.

    (SONG)

    (Where'd I go wrong?)
    Pull the curtain, begin
    Paranoia's, wearing thin now
    It's wearing thin now
    (Where'd I go wrong?)
    Close my eyes, realize
    I've become the victimized now
    Desensitized now

    (MEANING)

Make me forget the things I'm seeing
    I dont wnna see it
Im caring less and less about reality
Im starting to realize how unmerciful I've become

    (SONG)
The one and only day has come
I'll pay for all the bad things I've done

    (MEANING)

The time has come for me to come to truth
about what ive been ignoring and I'm going to
pay for repressing real problems by them becoming real to me

    (SONG)

    (Where'd I go wrong?)
Something's wrong because I find the glamour
In the darkside, In the darkside
    (Where'd I go wrong?)
    Cheap regrets, can't forget
Falling victim to the debt still,
    Unpaid in my mind

    (MEANING)

(Whered I Go Wrong) means when did I lose natural compassion. The peron knows he's lost it and how yet he keeps asking himself the same question deceiving himself.
Glamour is found in bad and horrid things. Like when people say how many people died 3 the response is thats it 10 died last time. Death and other things r glamourized. I have regrets that I didnt help these bad things happening when maybe I could have helped. All this tithe that hasnt been given out. And Im gonna have to pay the debt in some way.

The one and only day has come
I'll pay for all the bad things I've done

    (SONG)

It's gonna take me, you don't know tragedy
I've been to hell and back, can ya tell it?
Close my eyes and lay me down to sleep
I fear the worst might be the urgence to explode
And my time is up so...

    Why can't I just lie?

    (MEANING)

I cant repress it any more and Im going to go crazy with all this pain Im holding back. This part it seems as if someone from the third world or a victim is talking he says hes been to heel and back and that the narrator of the song doesnt know what tragedy is he has actually seen in person what the narrator has only heard about.

    (SONG)

The living dead awake, the horror show begins
So pull the curtains over me
    (Bring on the panic
    The uncontrolling manic
It's a free for all com memo
Every last word) (Well, hey hey hey hey) [x2]

    (MEANING)

Its time for my repressed memories to take over memories of everything bad in this world that Ive seen and ignored are coming up. Insanity is taking over and Im losing my control.

    (SONG)

Suffocate the dreams in my mind
    (Well I can't stop believing)
Drown the thoughts that have me confined
(This life is hard to begin)
Good as dreams as black as the night
No one told me end is a lie
Suffocate the dreams in my mind
Drown the thoughts that have me confined
Good as dreams as black as the night
No one told me end is a lie

    (MEANING)

SOME ONE HELP ME! the narrator is crying out for assistance here suffacate my horrible memories I have of past horrors. When you die its not all over it goes on .

    (SONG)

Now we're gone, do you still feel
the same? Well now, can't you see?
I need help to stop me from myself
Well can't you help me now?

    (MEANING)

This is the victim asking for help once again now that the narrator has partially experienced what the victim goes through. Its asking the listener in a way what are you going to do to help the victims.
