She’s got a place within the woods
Where she swings near the house in the trees
And she’s got a way with animals
And invites me along to get free

There's an army of men who’d shoot for her
Even goddesses watch when she moves
Her friends get us high
And something opens up the sky
And fills us with nothing to lose

Oh and we’ve never been in this place before
No, not as it is right now
And we may never know what this night is for
So for now we'll just sit around

And he’s got a way of lingering
Like a ghost that just won't go away
And he’s got a place within the wind
He’s around but I know he won't stay

There's an army of stars that crash the night
They would burn him but still it was cold
So we dared the gods to come and sit and talk with us
We were bruised, we were spilled, we were bold

Oh and we’ve never been in this place before
No, not as it is right now, right now
And we may never know what this night is for
So for now we'll just sit around
Yeah, for now we'll just sit around

Oh 'cause we’ve never been in this place before
No, not as it is right now, right now
And we may never know what this life and love and living is for
So for now we'll just sit around
Yeah, for now we'll just sit around

General Comment"this is a song i wrote about an evening i spent with some friends sitting around the fire, sitting with the day as it was slowly passing... it got late, it was all cloudy and then it cleared up and all these stars appeared and in that beautiful moment we realize that even though we've been in this particular place a number of times, there was something right there in that moment that would've never been quite like it was..."

this song is beautiful... he did an amazing version of it in Milan last year, which led into sleep don't weep... great.

General CommentI can't believe I heard it in November 2008! Apparently, it was sung in 2007. Heh. Beautiful song, one of his best for sure, after 9 Crimes, The Professor and the lot.
And I also heard what he said, turnturnaway, described it magnificiently, no? =D

General CommentI just heard this song for the first time. My friend has both a guitar and piano version that I stole from him. Simply one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. I might even say it is my favorite song of Damien's. Hopefully it will be on his next album.
