You chose to surrender the best thing that's happened to you
What were you missing? Were you just tripping?
Running away from your fear was the best you could do
You made this decision, you chose our division

And I have no regrets
I wish you the very best
In all that you do

Congratulations, now you are free
You have earned your degree
Yeah, you've graduated
This is your last separation from me

There'll be no more trying, no more coming back
No more forgiving you, no more thinking that
Somehow the sum will be different
By using division

Half of your friends would attend before they ever knew
Why they are going to this party I'm throwing
They would be thinking that I would be pleading to you
To get back together, well, how about never?

You're gonna miss me, Brad
So funny I had to laugh
You did this to you
Yeah, you did

Congratulations, now you are free
You have earned your degree
Yeah, you've graduated
This is your last separation from me

There'll be no more trying, no more coming back
No more forgiving you, no more thinking that
Somehow the sum will be different
By using division

Congratulations, you've graduated
You finally got your degree
In your last separation from me

Congratulations, you've graduated
To be all alone by yourself
Let me throw you a party, farewell
Farewell, farewell, farewell, farewell, well, well, well

Congratulations, yeah, yeah, yeah

Its about a girl who liked a guy so much that even though he had broken her heart many many many times, she kept forgiving him, convincing herself that this time would be different. It never ended up actually being different, but in the pit of her stomach she still always loved him. Finally she decided that it needed to end once and for all, thats where the line "this is your last separation from me" came in, and now she knows that hes gonna want her back because she finnaly gave up on him, but shes trying to be strong and not give in. Trust me, dont put yourself in this situation, its bad, really really bad.

Honestly, this may be a totally different interpretation than anyone else, but whether it is or not I'll always think of the song this way.

Aly & AJ had just graduated, but I don't think it is really about that.

It's about a guy who seriously messed up, out of fear. They had a perfect relationship going, or atleast she thought. He must of broken up with her ("you choose our division") and she knew he was a coward, he couldn't give them a chance. And she's got a good head on her shoulders, she's more positive and knows where she is going. She might've been upset at first, but she's learned not to waste her time with someone who "chose to surrender" the best thing that happened.

One reason why I love this song so much, is because I've been in the guy's place, only as a girl, of course. I liked a guy, and I think he liked me back too, but I was scared. Scared of everything that could of happened. I had something good going for me, and I cowardly threw it out of my life. Now I don't know if the guy feels this way. But I feel as if I'm the singer, only singing to myself, if that makes sense.

But, Aly & AJ are amazing.

"there'll be no more dragging" should be "there'll be no more try again" "no more thinking that somehow this song will be different..." should be "no more thinking that somehow the sum will be different..."

This song portrays the girls' talents perfectly. Great singing, yes...however, I'm more impressed with their skills as songwriters.

    It's sum, not song.

I love this song. It reminds me of my ex, naturally. (: I think Aly and AJ really prove they're not just Disney pop stars with this song. It's really good.

they're pretty impressive songwriters for disney stars. the song actually has a story line and a theme etc instead of just being a cliche break up song

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
