"Party Down" as written by and William Alexander Smith....
Mama,
Daddy,
Baby Sis.
Tell your
Cousins
All about this.

Coming to you now,
From the Money Cow,
Living large in space.

Take your wallet out,
All the Dingos Shout,
"We'll eat your baby Mate!"

I'm upsetting you,
But I'm getting through,
I'm just sick of the same old something.
And you want me to stay but I am out the door.

Baking a cake!

We just came to party down!
Killing every scene around!
We just came to party hardy hardy hardy hardy!

Who ho ho!
Oh oh oh!

She fell down the stairs,
Snakes eat Baby Bears,
Sharks are coming now.

Tearing off my flesh,
Are you getting fresh?
Slap me in the plough.

We like popsicles,
We have lost control,
I can't run 'cause i'm in slow motion.
The mechanical bulls are melting in the snow.

Flipper hurray!

We just came to party down,
Whee-ha!
Killing every scene around!
We just came to party hardy hardy hardy hardy.

We won't let you down,
We won't let you down.

We Just Need To Party Down!

Baking a cake!

We just came to party down,
Ah yeah, party down.
Killing every scene around.
We just came to party hardy hardy hardy hardy hardy!

General CommentThe song is so deliberately nonsensical! it's brilliant.

Does it remind anyone of when little kids write songs where the lines rarely connect, but just rhyme?

General Commenti dont think it has a certain meaning, except the chorus. I think they're just showing that even though they always seem so angry and depressed about life, they have a happy side too. "bakin' a cake!" haha

General Commenti think thats a misconception, i think they aren't particularly angry or depressed in many of their songs, they are just being sinical, perhaps as a way of dealing with situations that would normally make people depressed or angry, though you cant argue with the fact that songs like "your guts (i hate em)" are angry in nature. and this particular song i think is all about just having a good time, with whoever your with, regardless of who it is, and if your weird enough or silly enough, people will open up to you regardless what scene they belong to.

General Commentthis is exactly why i love rbf. they have a clear message in the song of how, even though they may be getting older and ska is dying, they still know how to "kick out the jams". they even show they are musically talented in other genres.
