i dream so loudly,
i'm afraid you'll hear
you're always in them,
my thoughts are clear
until i wake up,
they get mixed around
my words feel sideways
my eyes fall to the ground
they're coming down

i would have lived a lifetime
if i died right now
i'd be staring at you
from my cumulus clouds

in the backyard, we were everything
sailors
twenty years later, nothing has changed
just sitting here
broken sticks and an empty dress up case

i would have lived a lifetime
if i died right now
i'd be staring at you
from my cumulus clouds

you cried inside your bed
where i played this song
though the chords were sloppy
and the melody was entirely wrong
and i kissed your eyelids
or at least where i thought that they should be
you were close to me
and i can't breathe
i can't breathe

General CommentUm...I liked Shelby a lot more until I heard this song.

Tune is almost identical to Bright Eyes' "Amy In The White Coat"

General Commenti disagree.. i think this isn't her best song, it's sort of an overplayed concept, but i don't think it's like amy in the white coat. i can understand why you'd think so though.

i think i spelled cumulous wrong.

General Commentactually, hadn't heard that song before this one was written. but- i agree. not really a charmer. lame-ish lyrics. but hey, we all make mistakes, right?
