"Letter to Me" as written by and Brad Paisley....
If I could write a letter to me
And send it back in time to myself at seventeen
First I'd prove it's me by saying
Look under your bed, there's a Skoal can and a Playboy
No one else would know you hid
And then I'd say I know it's tough
When you break up after seven months
And yeah I know you really liked her
And it just don't seem fair
But I'll I can say is pain like that is fast and it's rare

And oh, you got so much going for you
Going right
But I know at seventeen
It's hard to see past Friday night
She wasn't right for you
But still you feel like there's
A knife sticking out of your back
And you wondering if you'll survive
But you'll make it through this and you'll see
You're still around to write this letter to me

At the stop sign at Tomlinson and 8th
Always stop completely, don't just tap your brakes
And when you get a date with Bridget
Make sure the tank is full
On second thought forget it, that one turns out kinda cool
Each and every time you have a fight
Just assume you're wrong and Dad is right
And you should really thank Ms. Brinkman
She spent so much extra time
It like she sees the diamond underneath
And she's polishing you till you shine

And oh you got so much going for you
Going right
But I know at seventeen
It's hard to see past Friday night
Tonight's the bonfire rally
But you're staying home instead
Because if you fail Algebra
Mom and Dad will kill you dead
Trust me you'll squeak by and get a C
And you're still around to write this letter to me

You got so much up ahead
You'll make new friends
You should see your kids and wife
And I'd end by saying have no fear
These are nowhere near
The best years of your life

I guess I'll see you in the mirror
When you're a grown man
P.S. go hug Aunt Rita every chance you can

And oh you got so much going for you
Going right
But I know at seventeen
It's hard to see past Friday night
I wish you'd study Spanish
I wish you'd take a typing class
I wish you wouldn't worry, let it be
I'd say have a little faith and you'll see

If I could write a letter to me
To me

General CommentThis song is really realistic. When your around the age of 15-18 heartbreaks seem like the end of the world, you can't think past that week, you think everything now is the most important you'll never get over it. But in reality once you get a bit older you realize how ridiculous you were being and that you survived and better things will come your way. One of the best Brad Paisley songs.

General CommentI cried the first time I listened to it.

I wish I could do the same thing for my childhood days, when I was in College and on every time of life my that I feel I want to give up, becasue no one had been there for me, just my self alone.

I was the kind of person who never tells anybody of what I feel inside, well still I am up to now.

General CommentIt may not be possible for him to write a song to himself at 17, but he's writing a letter to all the people that are 17 or 18 and going through all the things mentioned in the song. That is why I love this song, because I am 18 and this song really helps me cope with things like breakups and stuff.

My InterpretationThis is such a great song. It's basically saying that you shouldn't worry about your troubles too much or whats to come in the future because everything will turn out the way its supposed to. When your young, like me, you tend to think about what direction to take, why that relationship didn't work out and why she broke your heart, or what career path will I be on? So many unanswered questions dwell in your mind. This song is basically saying 1. We all go through this, and we will end up the way we were supposed to end up and 2. We will be looking back one day at everything we've been through and be happy it all happened, because its ultimately how you got to where you are today.

Great song by Paisley, keep them coming!

General CommentThis is my favorite song off of his new CD! I absolutley love it. I will honestly be suprised if this doesn't become a single! Its amazing to think how when your 17 the things you worry about that now when you look back made you who you are. Favorite part of the song...
