"I Will Wait For You" as written by and David William/morrison Kay....
In the light when I close my eyes
Yeah in the night when my mouth turns blue
You know I will wait for you ooh ooh
Its all that I can do

Under stones and inside the trees
Yeah far away from this town I steal
You know, I will wait for you ooh ooh
Its all that I can do

And I will always do my worst
You know I'll rise each day for work
An I will try to do my best for you
ooh
But one day you'll wait for
Someone like me

*KILLER GUITAR SOLO*

Close to home and in your backyard
Yeah when its late and your plants have died you know
I will wait for you ooh ooh
It's all that I can do

And I will always do my worst
You know I'll rise each day for work
And I will try to do my best for you
Ohh
But one day you'll wait for
someone like me

I will wait for you ooh ooh
Its all that I can do

I will wait for you ooh ooh
Its all that I can do

You know I will wait for you
Its all that I can do

General CommentIs NME the only one who thinks that Tom Petty rejigging the theme from Grange Hill might actually a quite good thing? With that in mind, it's entirely possible that you, dear reader, will absolutely loathe this song. It's cheery almost to the point of annoyance, summery to the point of infuriation and as retrospective as cotton picking. Yet, it's weirdly brillant, and for the life of us, we just can't figure out why. BN
