get up cause it's morning cousin. they found your mother in a ditch, all tore up. then it starts snowing, it's too cold and my arms itch. nosebleed. now all that "bright white" is blood red.

now i don't know but oh, i got this feeling that says this is it.

every time i look outside i see that lone sun shining bright, makes me sad to be alive. every day it's just that same old gray staring back at me, so why do i keep on living?

intense, a rush now to the head of blood that flows oh so intense through our hearts. so rhythmic. it strolls our veins so effortless and keeps us entertained and interested.

singing that same old lover's song about a heart strung out too long. it just stops.

it's a shame cause we almost got clean.

singing that same old lover's song about a heart strung out so long, it just stops.

General CommentIn my opinion it seems to be a break up song... but that's just what I'm getting the begining throws me off a little but I think it's about a break up that is long time coming and how much it sucks waking up and having it be a beatiful day when all you want is to feel like shit and have everything around you look the way you feel. It's about a relationship that went on for too long... it wasn't exactly a bad one it just didn't have any life to it anymore... that's kinda what it means to me... but I could be waaay off. Why don't we just ask them? I used to be aquintances with Dillion.

General CommentI don't think this song is as cliche as you seem to be thinking. I think, simply, he's starting to think life is just another bad thing after another, big things such as finding his cousin's mother in a ditch, and small things such as a simple nosebleed. So now he's just thinking, his life isn't really worth living, so why keep living it?

General CommentIt's about one of the members of the band's aunt dieing from a cocaine overdose which explains the cousin and mother in a ditch line.

General CommentThis song is definetly about a Cocaine addiction. Think about it, "nosebleed, now all that bright whites blood red." Snort too much coke, you get a nose bleed. "It's a shame cause we almost got clean." It's def. not about a break up.

General Commentthis song is all about cocaine addiction. i know the band confirmed it in an interview, but just look at the lyrics. it couldn't be about a relationship:
the cousin's mother in the ditch, bright white=cocaine, strung out, almost getting clean.
itchy arms, nosebleed, blood rushing to the head and intense through the heart, all results of the drug. the second verse is all about how it feels and the effects it has on the body.
it "strolls our veins so effortless and keeps us entertained and interested," its an easy way to escape the depression he feels from misery of life--he describes that in the chorus (about the sun and gray sky)--and cocaine makes life seem fun and interesting again.
and lovers' song refers to his feeling toward the drug; addiction is like a relationship because he loves it and keeps coming back to it, and yet he tries to break up (get clean) when it goes on for too long and he knows its not good for him or his depression.
who would have known that all that stuff is packed into this poppy ubeat sounding song. its actually depressing if you think about it!
