"silence the voices" as written by and Chris Cornell....
There the soldiers, in the sunlight
Kill the center of a man in endless suicide
By the night light, in forever sky
Is a holstered, bridled child spinning 'round the flame?
Each is loved now or remembered
By the mask they wore years before the future
And the horse falls in the smoke filled riot
The center of a child grows in new disguise

Where are the songs from the sane minds?
And where are words from the sound mouths?
I can't understand how they silence the voices

It's a new day, in the old life
He looks healthy with a tan on the white sheath
Across the table, where the blood dries
Where infinity will greet these earthly confines

That say no
That say no

It's a new day, in the old life
In the silence of the absence

That say no
I can't understand how they silence the voices

General Commenti believe i read something from cornell about this song...that it's about how the anti-war sentiment is being crushed beneath this "support the troops" campaign. supporting the toops is well and good, but wouldn't they be better off at home in the first place? the verses are just about the general horrors of war, and what we subject our soldiers to. :(

General Commentit's totally about death. but can someone explain the meaning of the lyrics specially the 1st verse.
the 2nd verse is kinda easy to understand.
first line is about the death of someone. second line, "tan" probably from the make up... third line he talks about the table in the morgue where the body is embalmed. fourth line the dead dude "went into the light".

    please someone elaborate the lyrics.
