"Worlds Apart" as written by Shane Told, Neil Boshart, Joshua Bradford, William Hamilton and Paul Koehler....
Lying all alone, wishing you would call
Writing all my thoughts has broken all my bones
You gave it all up, you threw it all away
There's nothing I can do

What do I think of dying?
You know it's even worse than what's in my head
You don't believe me when I tell you
I don't want to be a fraud and pretend that everything's fine
I won't be here when you get home
I'm not gonna sit here and die

I'll follow through again this time
I'll swallow swords
I'll be just fine

You read me like a book
You know I'm running out of legs to stand on
I won't believe you when you tell me
These old habits die so hard
There's not intervention in sight
There's no point in calling you
I'm just gonna stand here and fight

I'll follow through again this time
I'll swallow swords, spit out my pride
I'll be just fine
You fill my head with endless lies
You're killing me, I'm killing time
I'll be just fine

So, maybe one day the pain will go away
And I will see your face
I won't even care
Changing all the locks 'cause I can't change you

I'll follow through again this time
I'll swallow swords, spit out my pride
I'll be just fine
You fill my head with endless lies
You're killing me, I'm killing time
I'll be just fine

General Commentthe lyrics in this song are RIDICULOUSLY amazing with regard to poetic devices.
assonance, consonance, repetition, alliteration... it's really crazy.

    *intro
-repeated "all" (and "call" has the same sound)
-same structure with "writing all my thoughts"/"broken all my bones"
-structure repeated "you ___ it all ___"

    *verse 1
-the girl doesn't BELIEVE HIM that he's saying he's not a FRAUD = paradox
-the paradox that the fact that he won't pretend everything is fine is what makes things not fine between the guy and girl
    -consonance "fraud/fine"
    -consonance "here"/"home"

    *chorus
-following again = repeating something already unoriginal/tired
    -swallow/spit

    *verse 2
-"out of legs to stand on"+"stand here and fight"
-entire mess of assonance and consonance with "these old habits die so hard"

    *chorus 2
    -killing me/killing time (amazing)

    *bridge
    -changing locks/change you

    song is preposterously good.

General CommentIt is "I'm running out of legs to stand on" not "I'm running out of ways to stand up" but anyway this song really hits home...

General CommentThere was an article in AP magazine on Silverstein, and Shane meantions that his 7 year relationship with his girlfriend ended, and I really think this is about her. Like the line "you gave it all up, you threw it all away" Or it could be about breakups in general.
