"Every Single Instinct" as written by Laura Jane Ballance, James August Wilbur, Jonathan Patrick Wurster and Ralph Lee Mccaughan....
Oh what did I think would happen
Bank robberies and a few drinks slip back in
Every page torn out and a plaintiff penciled in doubt
Color slides on into your ink
Landscapes strung up and still wet
Form all ranges that lay flat
Barely spring but green enough
Obviously scarred but not too tough

Every single instinct running out like regs, every one I ever had
Every fork determent following your lead, evergreens and a foam sea
Formulas and foul lips tied in canvas bags shreded into tiny scabs
Every single instinct running out like regs, every one I ever had

Every single instinct

General CommentThis song is about Morrissey and his relationship with the childhood home town. Growing up in a place riddled with poverty was not easy and it greatly influenced his writing. I think Mac did a great job of portraying Morrissey as painter painting out every song and then eventually gaining fame and losing "every single instict" that he had previously known from his old life.

    Brit Slang is used:
regs=regulars (at a bar or restaurant)
    scab=union strike

Lyric CorrectionI'll leave some of your interpretations even if I am not sure of them, but surely:

Oh what did I think (would happen)
Bank robberies and a few drinks (slip back in)
Every page torn out in a planner penciled in doubt,
    Color slides, and India Ink
Landscapes strung up and still wet
    Former ranges now lay flat
    Barely spring but green enough
Obviously scarred but not too tough

Every single instinct, rung them out like rags-- every one I ever had
Every fork and turn-off following your lead, evergreens and _____ foam seas
Formulas and foul-ups tied in canvas bags shredded into tiny scabs
Every single instinct, rung them out like rags-- every one I ever had

    Every single instinct
