"Off Broadway" as written by and Ryan Adams Bradley Smith Pemberton....
Hanging 'round Broadway
And I think I saw your face
Cars speeding by me
Reminding me of us
Rats going from the gutter to their holes
All these people that are trying to get home

I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
Used to be off Broadway

I miss your locket
And the things you kept inside
And I just can't stop it
Hasn't killed me yet, but give it time
Shuffle down to the watering hole
Getting tired, and I want to go home

I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
Used to be off Broadway
Used to be off Broadway
Used to be off Broadway
Used to be off Broadway

I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
I don't know where that is anymore
Used to live off Broadway

General CommentThat moment where you remember where you came from, and you miss it. You realize you've been so many places that nowhere is "home" anymore. He used to be so certain and he clings to those memories, even though they're long gone and he's worse for wear.

General Commentthe lyrics in the FIRST verse are actually:

"Rats scurry from the gutter to the hole
All these people, and theyre trying to go home
and i dont know where that is anymore"

General CommentI don't think it's about realizing you've been so many places and wanting to go home as the first person commented.

This is about him yearning for an old relationship. Since that ended, he doesn't know what to do with himself and his whole world has been turned upside down because of it. He's basically lost without HER.

So he goes down to the local bar and drinks away his sorrows, goes home and passes out.

General CommentWhy do people keep posting the wrong lyrics? STOP until the right ones are released. The first verse has already been corrected. The second one is wrong as well.

General CommentFor those who have commented on the lyrics being incorrect, these lyrics posted are from Ryan's unreleased acoustic album "The Suicide Handbook" that was pulled at the last minute. The lyrics posted by members as correct lyrics are from the re-worked "Off Broadway" from Ryan's 2007 album "Easy Tiger".

    peace dudes
