"Goodnight Rose" as written by and Jonathan Graboff Neal Casal....
Goodnight Rose, we're going to win
Put your troubles behind you and go on to bed
Let go of the worry, there's so much nobody understands
Don't live your life in such a hurry, life goes by us, so, so fast
And the sun will come up again, and I will be here
If you get scared just hold my hand
Tomorrow is yours, and who knows, maybe we'll win
The whole shebang
Goodnight Rose, goodnight, goodnight Rose

Good morning sunshine, a new day begins
And the hustle and bustle of the traffic reach you kindly
I can tell because you are smiling
Come on, give 'em everything that the winning demands
Just one more ribbon, Rose, before the mantle place caves in
And the sun will come up again, and I will be here
Rose, if you get scared, just hold my hand
Get out of that dress, go on to bed
The bar is closed
Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose
Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose

Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose
Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose

General CommentI think that the lyrics might be incorrect. I think that the seventh line down should be "...and who knows, maybe we'll win, the whole sha-bang."
Anyway, I wonder what the significance "Rose" has in Ryan's life. The name pops up in several songs and a rose in unofficially Ryan Adams and the Cardinals' symbol. Thoughts?

General Commentthis is a great opening song on easy tiger.. i think that its about forgeting the bad stuff in life.. and just getting through it and focusing on the positives.. it takes on the cliche "tomorrows a new day" -- "the sun will come up again, tomorrow" also on blue skys comment; i think the rose is just a symbol of significance not actually a person.. he uses it as a female figure in his songs-- alot of his songs are about dispair and misfortune with relationships and woman, i dont know if all of it actually has happened to him or if he sees it in his mind, thats why i feel it is a representation of female significance and thats why it is reoccuring in the lyrics as well as used in the cardinals symbol

General CommentDon't take life too seriously. Don't rush through it. Savor it. Enjoy it. Tomorrow is a new day. A new chance to get it right.

It reminds me of that old quote: “Life is short. Break the rules forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile.”

General CommentIt's him sitting at the bar and wishing that he could save this Rose who is a bar slut that likes to party and disrespect herself. He's thinking to himself how he'd like to send her away from the bar and into restful sleep, where he will meet her in the morning and help save her from herself and her lifestyle.
