So long ヤミヲサイテ

In deep slowly sky
手探りの未来に震え立ち尽くすならそのままでいい
置き去りの「nameless liberty」が笑いながらそう言った

そして今此処で光りを浴びる 揺らぐ未来から目を背けぬ夢を誓って

...hmmm...im still tryin to figure this one out... I think its about death and dying, but being cynical about heaven and the afterlife... is he killing himself in the song? Little lost but I LOVE this song. So manly and RAAh when Ruki does his thing. Always a pleasure to hear it.

ok ok now i think its about conformitiy. Maybe choking down a boring life we don't want to lead...still pretty cynical.

i think it's about dissillusionment, being forced to fit into a mould by someone else, and hating it, but still carrying on.

the first verse is about something really looked forward to - something anticipated and dreamed about, and then when it is reached, the realiseation slowly trickles over the person - 'this is not what it seemed from the outside. this is hell, even though it looks like paradise to an outsider.' I think this line illustrates this concept well - ''Even if HEAVEN is covered with mud, it becomes a paradise when we live in it.''

The second verse is introspective i think. He looks in on himself and asks, 'is this what i wanted - did i truly wish to be like this?' he also mentions that he could escape from the life, but the fear of uncertainty in his future keeps him from leaving.

Interesting song. Ruki has a way of conveying things in his lyrics that is fascinatingly different and intriguing.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
