"Sober" as written by Kelly Brianne Clarkson, Aben Eubanks, Jimmy Messer and Calamity Mcentire....
I don't know
This could break my heart or save me
Nothing's real
Until you let go completely
So here I go with all my thoughts I've been saving
So here I go with all my fears weighing on me

Three months and I'm still sober
Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers
But I know it's never really over

I don't know
I could crash and burn but maybe
At the end of this road I might catch a glimpse of me
So I won't worry about my timing I wanna get it right
No comparing
Second guessing
No, not this time

Three months and I'm still breathing
Been a long road since those hands I left my tears in but I know
It's never really over, no

Wake up

Three months and I'm still standing here
Three months and I'm getting better yeah
Three months and I still am

Three months and it's still harder now
Three months I've been living here without you now
Three months yeah, three months

Three months and I'm still breathing
Three months and I still remember it
Three months and I wake up

Three months and I'm still sober
Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers

General CommentI agree that this isn't about being sober in the traditional sense, but more about a spiritual state of being. It's a song about moving on from something so traumatic, that you count the months since it took place. It's defiant yet vulnerable, as this person still fears what's to come.

I think this song showcases both Kelly's lyrical and vocal abilities like never before. The build up and subtle use of that amazing voice is beyond breathtaking!

General CommentKelly said this on aol.com:
"My favorite song on the album is 'Sober.' Musically, it's almost hypnotic. You just get lost in it, it's just so beautiful. This song is about surviving something you think you can get past or over. I'm not an alcoholic; that's not what it's about. It's just a metaphor. Everyone has something they are addicted to that they can do without in their life, so it could be about whatever your addiction is."

Song Meaningthis song is beautiful. she is very emotionally confused. shes scared. but she needs this change in her life. for 3 months shes been away from her problem. But she isnt sure what is going to happen next. she feels it could go back to square one at any moment. she wants the memories to stay with her. and of course she will always look back and remember but she likes that shes 3 months "sober". i feel as though "wake up" means she knows she should think that she will be ok, but its hard to come to terms with that

General CommentThis song is about getting over something personal, letting go and moving on

Three months and im still sober
Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers
But I know its never really over

Is representing that over a period of time, she has been fine without a certain addiction in her life. She will learn to let go, but keep the good memories
"its never really over"- every choice she has ever made, has made her the person she is today

General CommentThis is an amazing song, yet I haven't heard it on any radio station. This sucks, because her stupid label didn't like this album. I just hope that she will have it on a greatest hits album in the upcoming years,or at least re-release it. that would make me happy! This song deserves the rightful recognition!

General CommentIt's sad this song never got mainstreamed because I think it's something EVERYONE can relate to... it's such an intense song, and definitely my favorite on the album. The meaning is obvious.... trying to get over all the pain and hurt from something (or someone) you felt you desperately needed in your life. It's about getting your life back on track, even though you still hurt. In sum... it's moving on. I LOVE Kelly Clarkson.... she's such an intense person

General Commenti like the song although it takes awhile to build up to the last chorus. This song and Haunted are my favorites off My December.
