"If You Were Here" as written by Tom Bailey, Alannah Joy Currie and Joseph Martin Leeway....
If you were here
I could deceive you
And if you were here
You would believe
But would you suspect
My emotion wandering, yeah
Do not want a part of this anymore

The rain water drips
Through a crack in the ceiling
And I'll have to spend
My time on repair
But just like the rain
I'll be always falling, yeah
Only to rise and fall again

If you were here
I could deceive you
And if you were here
You would believe
But would you suspect
My emotion wandering, yeah
Do not want a part of this anymore...

General CommentCover of a Thompson Twins song. I think it's about how the singer is unable to really be secure in a relationship. Like he's always kind of looking, but he tricks his girlfriend (or whatever) into believing (that everything's fine).

General CommentI think he's saying that he can always start a relationship, but in the end he'll always screw it up.
