Here in this yellow room
Blocking the screaming sounds from the stage
Their silhouettes passing by in the doorway
I pay no mind

You're half-dressed and star-struck
Will they pull you out?
Will they bring you back?

We both know what's coming
You aren't the first
You won't be the last

So take it all off for them
Take it all off for them
I swear, they'll like it

I'm listening to what they say
Feeling less and less okay
But it's the same old story
How do I fix my head?
How do I fix my head?

Living in a world where changing
What you got makes you better
Why's that plastic surgery's
Just what you need
Then you'll be happy

Surrounded by mirrors and people who stare
Silently judging
Dependent on make-up and being adored
Can't be self-assured

I wish that I could make you see
How do I make you see
Without it all
You're lovely

I'm listening to what they say
Feeling less and less okay
But it's the same old story
How do I fix my head?
How do I fix my head?
How do I?
How do I fix my head?
How do I fix my head?

General Commentabout superficial, materialistic mindsets. about her being critiqued and ridiculed for not being pretty enough, not being the best, and being brought down to the point where she truly begins to believe something is wrong with her because she isn't perfect.

General CommentYeah I kinnda agree but I think it's about people in general and not just her. The song is also saying that people don't need to be dolled up to be beautiful and that you are beautiful anyway. I completely agree with the point this song is making and i think that people that think looking good is the only important thing in life are in a way ugly them selfs for ridiculing others.

General CommentOh by the way I think the line "Dependent on make-up And being adored Can't be so Assured.." is self assured and not so assured. I sure I heard self anyway and sorry if I'm wrong.

General Commentin the lyric booklet, it says "lonely" instead of "lovely". it's also "self assured" like the above comment said.

it's a really beautiful song. i love the little video that comes with this in the album, it's pretty amazing.

General CommentThis song is most likely a reference to the short story "Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

General CommentI definitely agree with the last comment. But as far as I remember the story "Yellow Wallpaper" was referencing post-maternal depression, and I don't see any links to this song with that subject.. The only connections I see are the obvious "yellow room" and "silhouettes" because in the story, the main character saw figures in the yellow wallpaper.

General Commentok I know this is probably wrong and everyone will get mad about what I'm going to say but...
does anyone else think this could be a reply to "twenty-twenty surgery"? Idk something about it...

General CommentI agree with the others, it's about the superficial world we're living in. How there's no natural beauty left, in order to fit in you have to undergo surgery, etc. The author in the song I see as trying to escape the world that surrounds them. How to fix their head.
