All of the girls
Hoping for better things
She didn't care
She was unaware

All that she wanted
Was there in the backyard
Blue sky balloons
In the afternoons

Here in the dark
She feels her first heartbeat
She throws back the shade to the sunshine

Nothing could stop him from moving closer
It turns 2 oclock as their legs intwine

All of the boys
Waiting for something
He didn't wait
He took everything

His face like a child's
His face like an old man's
He sang all the time
And he couldn't sing

Here in the dark
He wants to forget her
Run to the rooftop and fly away

She covers his eyes
And tells him to make a wish
He laughs but it ends in a sigh
He laughs but it ends in a sigh
He laughs
But it ends
In a sigh

General Commenti interpret this as a warning to girls turning legal not to fall in love with older men..
becuase the older man may not be able to resist them sexually, but they will probably not ever commit to a real relationship with a girl who is only eighteen.
