"Painted" as written by and Clarkson Tanaskovic....
If I could find the time to speak
I'd try to find a thousands way to prove you wrong
Falling on my face
I'm chasing all the lines of your skin
And all your perowet mistakes
So dance until your broken
Ignore the fight inside that scares you

[Chorus]
Look before you end it all
Look before you shut your eyes
For the last time
Theres no more room to go back down
Your picture trends in black and white
I will show you what it's like

Let them say all that they want
I'll wipe away your painted wings
Until your heros come
If you doubt it'll look so
Then the venom in your eyes will control you

Well I hate pouring my heart out
When it's fading fast
And streaming down your leg

[Chorus]

She whispers in his ear
Don't hurt me, don't forget me
Dont hurt me, I'm still not properly together

[Chorus]

Your picture trends in black and white
I will show you what it's like
(2x)

I am right here and im waiting
I can see you but you cant see me (16x)

General CommentThe ending to this song is haunting. The jumble of words and the almost angry/obsessed sound it has sends chills down my spine.

General CommentI agree. I find it particularly neurotic and very sexually charged!

General CommentThe end reminds me a lot of Tool's Disgustipated. I don't think it's ual at all, it sounds more like a cry for attention, almost like at the end of My Damsel.

I looked it at that way at first but from a musical standpoint it is a very sexy song.

I suppose I shouldn't look at it like that since this is songmeanings.net... from that perspective it sounds like this person is contemplating suicide (obviously) and I picture them basically hovering in the corner with these voices screaming in their head and the three little grunts at the end (female?) is her shaking in fear because of it.

Not sure what to make of the "trends in black and white." Maybe because the person is suffering like they are he views their picture with no color - lifeless?.

General CommentSuch a beautiful song: about stopping a girl from being sad/depressed/suicidal. Probably the best song of The Pursuit album.

General CommentThis song is about trying to find the silver lining after falling out of love.
"Your picture trends in black and white" simply means either the person he is talking will either be loved or commit suicide.
It's about regret after the mistake, and the breathlessness before the fall.

    To any guitarists:
I'm currently tabbing the lead in Drop D, the lead in the chorus still stumps me, its hard to hear. I have the main riff tabbed out (not online yet) and 3/4's of the solo at the end.
I lose it at about the part where he plays a jumble of notes and I can't quite comprehend it.

If anyone wants to help lemme know.
