When all that you’ve tried, leaves nothing but holes inside,
It seems like you’re wired, to stay here held in time,
Cos nothing seems to change, oh no.
No nothing’s gonna change, at all.
I can see it in your face, the hope has gone away.

If you hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light.
Oh cos sometimes, fate and your dreams will collide.
So don’t walk away from me,
Don’t walk away from me,
Don’t walk away from me.

Your feet are stuck, no they cannot move,
Don’t tell me that they’re glued,
Sure they’re far from.
At home, at ease but give some time to breathe

Cos nothing seems to change, oh no.
No nothing’s gonna change, at all.
I can see it in your face, the hope has gone away.

But if we hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light.
Oh cos sometimes, fate and your dreams will collide.
So don’t walk away from me,
Don’t walk away from me,
Don’t walk away from me.

Cos everything will be ok,
I know that it’s so easy to say,
But the pain inside will fade,
Please tell me that you’ll stay.

If we hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light.
Cos sometimes, fate and your dreams will collide.
When all that you've tried leaves nothing but holes inside.

General CommentThis song reminds me of my mom. She left me and my family when I was a teenager, and it hurt. I took it all to God though, and now those holes are getting patched up one by one, but I know it will never be the same again.

General CommentFor the sake of arguement, I'll use the singer as HE, and whomever he's singing to as HER.

I interpret these lyrics in that the guy singing is wanting to work out a relationship with someone who isn't interested in the same outcome. Perhaps she's given up on him or them.

"But if you hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light." perhaps means let go of the bad times, and they'll be drown out by the good times that could be had if things were to work out.

However: "Oh cos sometimes, fate and your dreams can collide." seems to portray that things just aren't supposed to work out the way he wants them too. His dreams are for things to work but fate has another plan in store, which is her not wanting to work things out.

"When all that you've tried, leaves holes inside" would probably mean he's tried, but it's just not happening and he's got holes deep inside of him that can't be filled with the void of her.

I relate to this song as I'm going through a divorce and in past times, had really tried working things out. It leaves holes inside that can't be filled immediately.

    Feel free to comment back!

General CommentI think this song is about maybe a girl leaving this guy and him falling into depression because he knows she will walk away from him
    "Cos everthing will be ok,
I know that it’s so easy to say,
But the pain inside will fade,"
    i wish it would

General Commenti have a completly different view of this song. i feel like joe brooks is trying to say that when we think we've tried everything, to be happy in life, or to escape our problems, don't give up hope. our shadows, the evil things that lurk with us, will go away, be taken away in the light of the world. our friends, our dreams, our happiness, is the light.

the holes inside of us, i believe are our missing pieces. the things that make us feel complete, happy, and satisfied in life. if we have holes, were not truly happy, but we should not give up hope. our dreams could come true.

i personally believe in free will over fate, but i understand what joe brooks is saying (fate and your dreams will collide) because we can make our dreams come true and create our fate and be happy.

General Commenthe also says "i know that its so easy to say, but the pain inside will fade." he is promising that even though its so cliche to say everything will be ok, he really believes that he can help patch up your life and make the pain go away, make you happy again. some people can really affect your life like that. make sure you find someone like that in your life.
