Gone away are the golden days
Just a page in my diary
So here I am a Utopian citizen
Still convinced
There's no such thing as idealism

Memories they're following me like a shadow now
And I'm dreamin'
And I've already suffered the fever of disbelief

[Chorus: 1]
I've seen your act
And I know all the facts
I'm still in love with who I wish you were

[Chorus: 2]
It ain't hard to see
Who you are underneath
I'm still in love with who I wish you were

And I wish you were here

I was true as the sky is blue
I couldn't soon say the same for you
So now I find denial in my eyes
I'm mesmerized by the picture that's in my mind

Tell me when I'll finally see your shallow heart
For what it is
'Cause I don't want to keep on believin' in illusions

[Chorus: 1]

[Chorus: 2]

I wish you were here

Sometimes I can't explain
And I'm so sorry that I can't
I'll try to concentrate
On your true identity

[Chorus: 1]

[Chorus: 2]

[Chorus: 1]

[Chorus: 2]

I wish you were here...
I wish you were here...
I wish you were here...

Kate Voegele is a really good artist and this song is my favourite of her album. It's about a relationship gone bad and the guy turned out to be different from what she wished he would. But she still misses him alot though. It's a really good song.

I think Kelhipstah says it all!

Kate Voegele is awesome! For those who don't know her...Kate recently began a recurring guest spot in six episodes of The CW television series One Tree Hill on Tuesday. :) :) :)

I think it's about how sometimes when you are in love.. you are "in love with who you wish" they were.. and your too head over heels to notice until it's too late..

You seem to make things or aspects about the person in your head and kind of subconsciously lie to your self...because it's just that.. your "in love with who you wish they were"

sometimes you don't want to face the truth and sometimes your just so blinded by love that you just don't catch it until you are already in over your head...

this happens to me all the time lol .. after my ex dumped me I found my self comparing people to him constantly and then I just started lying to myself MAKING them who I wanted them to be in my head so that they would be perfect and "I'd show him"

:] but hey, that's just my take on it..

I love this song...especially the acoustic version.

You build someone up so much before you get to know them, or build them up on a person they used to be. Then you get to know them, and they're not what you built them up to be...what you wanted.

This song speaks to me. I love it My relationship with this guy failed because he was a fake. when we were togeather he was wounderful but i could always see through him. I loved him so much so i didnt want to believe what I saw underneath his act. He cheated on me and Im still in love with the illusion of what i wish and though he was.

yeah, i agree with what pretty much everyone has been saying so far. the song is about how she was in love with a guy who, essentially, didn't really exist.

that was pretty much my story. my first bf was awesome. we were both kinda misfits and were great friends. we were together for about a three-fourths of a year then he broke up with me. at first i was really mellow about it, things had been kinda slowing down, so to speak, and i sorta expected it. but after the first week or so it hit me......hard. i was completely depressed for something like three or four months! then when i was finally got my head straight, we got back together. it was great!......for about three weeks, then i felt us drifting appart again. the most annoyig part is that, that whole time, i wasn't ever not in love with him. even though i knew he wasn't really as in love me as i was with him, i still was crazy in love with who i wished he was...

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
