"Fistful of Sand" as written by and Samuel Bingham Endicott....
Every morning I wake up and you are home
But in my eyes I see that I'm alone
You've left me with your body in my arms
But I can't feel you anymore, you are gone

I can touch your skin but you aren't there
Frustration burns in me, it's more than I can bear
I wanna take you in my fists and squeeze the life back into you
But there is nothing I can do, you are gone

And I can hold you in my hands
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
I can hold you in my hands
But you are gone, you are gone, you are gone

You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You are gone, you are gone, you are gone

I am staring straight into your eyes
You never turn away or tell me lies
But you are with some other man while I am lying next to you
And there is nothing I can do, you are gone

And I can hold you in my hands
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
I can hold you in my hands
But you are gone, you are gone, you are gone

And I can hold you in my hands
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
I can hold you in my hands
But you are gone, you are gone, you are gone

You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You've slipped away like a fistful of sand
You are gone, you are gone, you are gone

General CommentAgree with the other users- it's about the end of a relationship. She's stopped loving him -maybe she's fallen in love with somebody else already- and no matter how much he wants to hold on to her there's nothing he can do to save thise relationship. It's that horrible moment when you realize that it's definitely, without a doubt, over.

    General CommentVery beautiful song.

His significant other has given up on the relationship and is now very cold. Even though she is still with him physically, her heart is no longer there.

He has lost her love, and although she is faithful and does not lie, it will eventually belong to another man and he realizes this.

General CommentYeah, he feels he wants to fix the relationship, but he can't bring himself to do it. In the end she is dead to him. Hence why he wants to squeeze the life back into her like a fistful of sand.

General CommentI love the image of "like a fist full of sand" no matter how tight you hold on to the relationship it still slips through your fingers a grain at a time. I think this guy dated my ex-girlfriend.

This was exactly how I felt. She never lied, she was always true to me, but I could see it in her eyes that she was done.

General CommentI love the comparison to a 'fistful of sand'... This is such a beautifully sad song... I love the whole message behind it: no matter how tightly you hold it to you, it is slipping away slowly and slowly... :[ There's nothing you can do...

    Definite fav! :]
